It's actually kinda funny that the people clamoring for a wall to be built are the same ones who believe that abstinence-only sex ed works.

Shows a fundamental misunderstanding of human nature. It's actually kinda funny because it reveals a person's level of intelligence. Call it the Litmus-Wall test!

The wall is a political game. If Trump really wanted it, he would have had the funding approved 2 years ago. Instead he waited until a point where the Democrats weren’t going to let him have it... In fact, he jumped the gun and was already blaming them WEEKS before they were even in government.

The wall is a mcguffin and a distraction. Trump doesn’t actually want it, it’s only use to him is so he has something to shut down the government for because he’s lazy as fuck.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

It also is funny that you need that generalizing thought to strengthen your position on this, hyperbole this and hyperbole that but it wont have a good impact and it will not make people want to share a common goal with you.

Atleast not the ones that should matter.

Democrats should take the deal.

Sounds great... NOT, Donald Trump campaigned on ending DACA not sign a bill to legalized these undocumented immigrants.

If there's one thing we all can agree on is that politicians should keep their promises.

Well, I've never met a democrat/liberal who believes in abstinence-only education. I've also never met a democrat/liberal who supports the wall or thinks it will actually work. do they exist? sure, but they're NOT the majority.

But to understand the opposition you should conversate with them and not use skewed views of your own political side, like if you think the mayority on the other side thinks about that subject in that way i might be gravitated in the direction to think your information source on this matter has been very onesided.

My parents are democrats and believe in abstinence until marriage and they believe it should be taught like that.

Im not a US citizen so excuse me if Im not 100% on all this but....

I think it has to do with people did some calculations and those 6$ Bn are about a 3rd of the actual price needed to do what he said, along the entire distance. After all why build just part of a wall some place? people could just walk around it if if you dont do it the entire stretch.

also it has to do with the wall itself.... you can easy saw through it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YB-fv2aK8t4

The department of homeland security themselves tested these walls, that Trump wants to build and say its meaningless.

Also walls will need manpower to protect it & repair, because as is, its basically not going to do anything to prevent immigration or drug smugling.
That costs too, the 6$ bn is waaaaay to little, it ll end up costing much more.

So basically the dems are saying, there are smarter ways to use money to prevent immigration or drug smugling.
Which is probably true. They see it as just throwing money out the window.'

However Trump ran his campagne on this lie, that a wall would fix everything.
So he needs to get some kinda wall buildt, if he wants to run for president again.

Thats all it is, its a meaningless waste of money, so he has a chance to get re-elected.

Again, if it fails or is proven to be objectively useless, the democrats win and can use it as a campaign position for decades to come. They can do this AND get some of their campaign promises done. The cost of it isn’t significant enough to sink the US economy. Far from it. From where I stand, it’s win-win-win for Democrats if they weren’t so obstructionist. The only risk they face is if it does work and the repubs can use it for their campaign.

Meaningful use of money is relative. The US is losing billions on the government shutdown alone. Do the US really need to buy another 90 F-35s? The whole efficient spending argument is silly. Governments are never efficient in spending. And 6B or even 20B isn’t really all that big relative to what the US spends in defense. A reasonable number of americans want the wall. The same way a reasonable number of americans want affordable health care for all or a streamlined immigration process. Trading one for the other seems like the smart way to go. But we all know that’s never gonna happen. :p It’s become Us vs Them, We’re ready to lose as long as you fail too mutual assured destruction kinda thing.

#1 money doesnt grow on trees, the people in power souldnt just waste, the tax pays contributions, it if they know it wont work.

#2 Trump is the jerk, wasteing money on this shut down. Why is it only the dems that should act to save the country from this waste? where is your anger towards trump? you seem to have double standards.

#3 Trump was the one to increase the military spending budget. They didnt even want or ask for it. Why didnt he instead back then put some aside for the wall?

#4 "goverment spending is never efficent",  Damn strait, we have people like Trump throwing money away, after being told by homeland security, that it wont work, on a wall, that wont serve any purpose and people like you advocateing for it.  When people behave such, you wont have a efficent government spending.

#5 "A reasonable number of americans want the wall."  Theres probably many more times, people that rather the shut down end, and we not waste money. Why should the few idoits get there way? The people that bought into Trump lies about how easy it would be to solve this issue with just a wall. These people dont even believe in facts, when the truth says something else they just ignore it

"We’re ready to lose as long as you fail too mutual assured destruction kinda thing."

and the one to blame is Trump and his followers.
Why arnt you guys willing to give? if your ready to accuse others of not just doing so.
Again double standards.

With all these FBI and media investigations and turning up nothing, Donald Trump must be one of the cleanest people in history. I like him more and more each day now.

1. The wall would work.

2. Democrats are the ones not willing to make a deal.

3. The increase in Military spending was supported by most Democrats and Republicans.

4. The wall is not a waste of money because it would solve the issue on the border.

5. The fact is that with a wall illegal immigration fromt he southern border would decrease.
