Forums - Politics Discussion - "Donald Trump I voted for you BUT.."

I've noticed this at the time when people voted for Brexit and immediately regret their vote. And sometimes I think, being over 18 years old shouldn't be the only requirement to vote, at all. Because it seems that some people don't actually know or realise what their vote can actually do to their country being it good or bad.

And..yeah.. I've accidentely stumpled about the same idiotism about some Trump voters who are kind of regretting their vote for Trump. Mind you, that I cannot verify if they are just trolling or not. So, maybe take it as a grant of salt or however it fits you the best.

I wish I could have voted for Trump. Unfortunately I'm in the wrong country.

He has done exactly what he said he would do as far as I can tell. When you vote for someone that's what you want, right?

These are some serious case of cognitive dissonance, especially in that syrian family video. This is why you have to have a sense of empathy. Too many ppl nowadays dont seem to care abt others, unless they are also having the same problem.

My thoughts exactly.

There was a study on Bregret (don't know where to find it, but I remember) that showed that some regretted voting leave, but not enough to change the outcome. And some that voted remain also regretted their vote. This Bregret thing is mostly bullshit. The country was split, half was against, half in favor. That doesn't change for most people overnight. A few that do change their opinion (and that is only natural) there blown out of proportion. But the protest against Brexit is organized among the people who where against it in the first place.

I assume with Trump is the same thing. Less than half of the voters voted for him. More voted for Hillary. And maybe some regretting voting for him, as some regret voting for Clinton. But that doesn't change anything. The lead in the deciding states was big enouh, much bigger than Bushs in Florida over Gore. So some people changing their opinion isn't relevant.

Idiotic thread for the simple reason of the following sentence.

It's not hard to find a few people who voted for anything that "regret" their vote.
So bloody what?

I live in the UK and would have voted for Trump if I could and at this point I wish it even more.

I concur +1

That's what I've found. According to them, the majority of people are now against the brexit.

OK, so with more time more people changed their opinion. That's not surprising. If that wouldn't happen, the government that was elected in one election wouldn't be able to lose in the next. What's the big deal? I regretted some votes in the past, because the politicians didn't do what I expected of them. I never thought about it being thread-worthy. I couldn't vote for Obama (because I'm german), but I was excited for him. Now I deeply sorry about that, because he didn't bring more peace as I expected, on the contrary. So, what is different about Brexit and Trump, that these normal processes do excite so much response?

What other requirements to vote than being 18+ would you suggest to be implemented? Being male?

I know it, I know it!

Your vote record shows that you vote responsible and take the right choice. So your first 10 elections your vote should be non-binding and counts only if you choose sensible. After ten elections this should be enough to build a record, and your vote is counted fully if your record shows you voted - say 90% - good. If your choices are more than 50% bad, then you are barred from voting for lifetime.
