Hunting Season is done...

Around the Network

With consoles converging to PC, I can see why some would just exit the closed systems and get an actual PC.

You say tomato, I say tomato

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

NIce to meet you ! Ahaha.

I'm officially a PC gamer since 1992
(my first 5 games were Civilization I, Monkey Island I, Monkey Island II, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis and Microprose's Formula One Grand Prix - those were the days of frequent masterpieces).

What I don't understand when I see threads like this (there's a similar one currently on neogaf), is the either/or approach.

For me there's no either/or.

In addition to my PC I will always buy the latest Nintendo console by default (for Zelda, Mario Kart, 3D Mario, Kirby, Yoshi, Pikmin, Xenoblade etc.) and I will even buy a PS4 some day provided it will ever get enough exclusives that interest me (currently it's only The Last Guardian and Ni no Kuni II).

Anyway, @OP:
Make sure to check out the extensive list of PC games you won't get on consoles, e.g. CIvilization V and VI, Europa Universalis IV, Age of Wonders III, Endless Space, Endless Legend, Anno 1404/2070/2205, Audiosurf 1+2, Euro & American Truck Simulator (no kidding), Banished, Cities Skylines, Undertale, Pillars of Eternity, Grim Dawn, Paths of Exile, Total War series, Dota 2, StarCraft II... to name just a few.

More than 30fps means new experience? Interesting.

It does, since sony started with 1080 60fps is for the gamers we saw a huge spike in people interested in 60fps.

Welcome to the club, you won't miss anything, quite the opposite actually.

Its a good choice. In time you will be able to play majority of console games on your PC the way you want to play them. Pro or Scorpio dont interest me anymore. This faze is the last of it. After the Standard X1 and PS4 its solely PC/Laptop. In saying that its great to have console options if your not very tech minded or want simplicity.

I've been pretty disappointed by this as well. All we've really heard about or been shown so far is upsampling 1080p and 4k. I may get the upgrade if they announce some significant improvements to so.e games I care about later on, but for now it's taking a backseat to just upgrading my PC later this year.

Ironic, a move Sony execs say themselves, was made to compete with PC is making PS4 gamers migrate to PC even swifter!!!

I've had PS1, PS2, PS3 but couldn't buy into Sony's crap anymore, felt more & more I was getting in bed with the pimp instead of the whore, if you don't mind my language. Sony wanted so much to be the new Microsoft that they surpassed the master by miles, I don't apreciate MS much but, I've come to really despise Sony, a brand & company that I enjoyed very much... I guess I'm not the only one, when we look at what Sony has become for the last 10 years, a shadow of its former glory!

the PS4 Pro will probably improve frames rates in itself just like the X1 S improves framerate on certain games. There are many games at unlocked framerate or having options to unlock it making the games droping in the 40s like Killzone Shadowfall. This is where the Pro could give you 60fps.

I do think as times goes on you will see more games having 60fps options
