Forums - Movies & TV - Ghostbusters Meta critic user score 2.3

It doesn't even deserve THAT. Changing the genders of the Ghostbusters is like remaking E.T. and changing the alien into a dog. The male "Janine" is just... lol

People are still acting all salty and immature about this? Yeesh.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Oh you mean how like reviewers decided to love the movie before it was even out?

Just like there are reviewers who decided to hate the moive before it was out. Just like there are unbiased reviewers who left their thumbs on the scale. Just like there are a bunch of SJWs who decided to hate the movie because of "gender swapping" and "Ms.Male".

The truth is, the original GB is overrated. The theme song was a trashy pop song just like the ones we hear on the radio today. If it was too great to replicate you would've heard as much from the reviewers, but it's not.

Get.over.it.

Don't care much for what you have to say but only corporate apologist losers support Sony's scummy tactics when it comes to this movie.

Pretty much the attitude of all haters who are preconvinced that their opinion was right all along. Do you know what we call them in the real world?

Close-minded people.

It's a decent film. If you enjoyed Ghostbusters II, you'll enjoy this one.

The first Ghosbusters was just it's own thing that'll never be replicated, you could make 100 Ghosbusters movies and never make one as good as that one.

It also has a 3.5 on IMDb, which is absolutely terrible. I don't know if it deserves to be that low, because I haven't seen it, but I do know that I indeed didn't like what I did see.

It doesn't deserve to be anywhere near that low, that again are just haters hating on the film.

It's better than Indepedence Day, Ninja Turtles II, Warcraft, or Tarzan by a good margin and it's worth seeing in theaters because the 3D is really impressive, probably the most impressive use of 3D I've ever seen.

If you go into the theater with a stick up your ass about it, no you probably will pick it apart to death quickly, but if you just go in to watch a fun movie, that's more or less what you get.

It's not "Girl Power: The Movie" either, the film really doesn't make much of a fuss of the Ghostbusters being women either, they are just a group of people who happen to be fascinated by the supernatural and that aspect of the film is not a problem at all.

The script is a little weak, that's the movie's biggest problem, not the cast, all 4 of the leads and Hemsworth as well all do a solid to very good job.

Actually Chris Hemsworth is very funny in this. All four of the girls do a solid job too, you're way off base with this.

The cast is the least of the movie's problems, the main problem having actually *seen* the film is the third act kinda falls apart and becomes a CGI fest, though for what it's worth the 3D is amazing. Best use of 3D I've ever seen in a film.

The ghosts literally look like they are floating right out of the screen.

user ratings/reviews on metacritic can't be taken seriously as the sites active users are simply too immature

I agree with this. It's like how that Call of Duty trailer got record dislikes on Youtube. What does it matter? This movie (which I don't intend to see in theatres), like the COD game (none of which I play anymore), and Batman vs. Superman (which I disliked) have become internet punchlines. People are readily jumping on the bandwagon to trash-talk them for whatever reason, and legitimate grips with all of them are drowned out by all the hyperbole. If you watch the movie, and you enjoy the movie, then what does a critic's (or user) opinion matter? Alternatively, if you hated the movie, then cool. Where's the beef? Why all the campaigning either way?
