Initially I thought the prime exclusives were going to be very low prices but don't appear to be so. I've generally moved away from Amazon as they have made it more difficult for me to purchase although always appreciate their excellent customer service. It seems being a large media/content provider is Amazon's no.1 priority and that is fair enough but I think they are rapidly losing market share in the UK as they make it more difficult to purchase from them. I probably buy only a tenth as much as I used to from Amazon back in 2014.
I'm not interested in prime membership but have no problem with Amazon pushing that I simply will shop elsewhere. It will get annoying if Amazon start doing amazing prime membership offers though. I'll just have to do a free trial I guess.
Yea, as someone who has prime, this is some BS.
People are essentially being forced to rely on other retailers.

Yep, I lost any reason to buy stuff from Amazon ever since they started charging tax and upping the minimum order price to get free shipping. I used to buy from them pretty heavily before that, I cant' say I miss them.
So Amazon is asking to pay for an yearly subscription to have the privilege to buy from them some games we can buy anywhere else reducing their sales? This has the word "genius" plastered all over..

Just think about all the stuff companies want you to subscribe today. You already have to pay for your internet, then you have to pay Xbox Live or PSN for some gaming, then there's Spotify for some music, Netflix for some movies and now you also should pay a sub for your online shopping! Add that all up, you can easily pay 200 $ a month just for subscriptions without any real value at all! It's ridiculous!
Thankfully, there are still enough alternatives. I didn't shop at amazon for years anyway. But still, wow.

The yearly subscription also gives free 2 day shipping, 20% off new games (so you pay 48 instead of 60 per game), and has streaming options for music, video, etc. The fact that they are hiding some games behind Prime is stupid, absoutely. However, if you are the type of person who buys a game a month new, the savings on the games already pays for Prime. And you get all the other benefits.
