Forums - Movies & TV - Overrated animated films?

The sad thing about Frozen is, that it could have been awesome. The potential was there, but what destroyed it for me were the bland designs and forced kiddie sections with the overly simplistic snowman and trolls.
I positivevly rejoiced when i thought the sucker would finally die, but nope. Apparently modern disney can't have deaths anymore.

Did you miss that bit in Wreck-it Ralph where King Candy is incinerated by a tower of searing light fully on screen?

Anyway, I liked Frozen, but I would agree that it is overrated. The 'How to Tame your Dragon' movies did nothing for me so I think they are overrated too. Brave is overrated in that it won the Oscar instead of Wreck-it Ralph (but it remains a good movie). Every Ice Age since the first bored me, but I don't know how those are regarded by other people so I can't call them overrated without that knowledge. Ditto for every Pokemon movie since the second.

Haven't seen Frozen, though I didn't really dig "Up" and "Tangled" that much.

I enjoyed Up. I was glad that it didn't have the cliche "man meets love of woman" ending.

Glad it ended with the grandpa and kid being together as close friends.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Toy Story 3

It just went over emotions already explored in Toy Story 2. Lotso Bear is basically the same character as the Prospector.

I don't know, I think it did well wrapping up the trilogy.

Kung Fu Panda 3 seriously messed up when it tried to keep going on. If it went Toy Story's route and put a good end to it, it could've done much better.

Hmm. Good question. I'm leaning towards Shrek. It was too formulaic in its anti formula.

For people saying frozen, what did you expect? It's a film for 5 year old girls.

Lego movie is unwatchable to me. Stopped after ten minutes.

Toy Story 4 is releasing in 2018.
