AMD had their Q4 Financial Results briefing and confirmed that they expect a big semi-custom win (i.e. a new game console SoC) to ship in 2nd half of 2016.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

2nd half of 2016? When is that, april to june? Isn't that too soon? I mean, Zelda U has no release date yet. Also, could they mean the shipping starts those months and the system reaches the market later?

EDIT: I was thinking 2nd quarter of 2016, not 2nd half. That is between july to december. That makes more sense.

Doesn't necessarily mean they are releasing in the second half of 2016. I am sure the chipset providers get paid as they ship the chips not as they go on shelves. Could be that they are starting production then.

This is confirmation that a console from a major vendor is coming 2H 2016.

Who else could it possibly be?

You're thinking 2Q of 2016. The second half would be between July-December.
