can those numbers really be trusted?

The speed of the OS was my biggest gripe with the XB1. The slowness was just agonizing. Good for Xboners if they can get this fixed.

Have to disagree with you. Phil isnt the reason the XB1 is getting better in terms of Hardware/Software. Windows 10 and DX12 and Cloud Computing were all drawn up when Don Mattick was in charge. The difference is when XB1 launch, Don or Phil didnt know the direction the console was heading. This OS update was going to come no matter whos in charge of Xbox. Phil is the man behind the scenes now but that doesnt mean these are fresh ideas he has brought to the table. In other words, all these updates were in the making anyway. Don wasnt a crowd pleaser like Phil and unlike Phil, Don lost his job because he was bad at PR.

I love Phil for the image he has given Xbox, not for its updates or improvements because like i said, even if Don was in charge this would have happen regardless. Remember Don was in charge of the 360 and that turned out to be the most own Console for last gen. If Don could have PRed better for the XB1 launch then he would still be around today. Its a business that has many years planning, these arent just On-The-Spot desicions. Phil is the man for XB1 and Don was the man for the 360. Either way PR is PR and Improvements are Improvments. Good to see the XB1 becoming the console it was meant to be, i truly believe the console was released way to early. These updates are proof that the XB1 was easily misjudged at launch.

Seriously though, I couldn't care less about an OS on a console. In fact, it's really turning me off lately. I want a PS2 OS again. You put in a game and the console starts right into it. You don't ever see the OS, you're just playing games! I was playing Mega Man the other day and all the time the system kept spamming me with stupid messages. "Blah bla, your bro is in a party dude!" "Hey, don't you wanna join your friends' party?!" "Oh hey, you got a silly trophy for doing easy shit that every monkey could do!" "Come on, share your new trophy, upload it to Facebook and Twitter, yai!" "Oh hey, check out the newest discounts in the store!" "EMERGENCY: You don't have a plus subscription! OMGZ!" "I feel lonely. ok, git drifted away a little, but every time those nasty messages blocked my friggin' Life bar at Mega Man! It was annoying as hell! I just cut the internet at the end. Screw Operating Systems on consoles.

I love people who pretend that Don was the problem... the team was the same, Phill wasn't brought from the outside and neither was a employee without voice there... so he is only a cloud pleaser as Azzanation said, no need to make him a godsent.
