If it sells at Wii u level or less than your looking at 3-4 year life span
If it sells more..than 4-6years

I just hope this will do 1080p 60pfs on every single game and will be happy since i won't ever have a 4k tv.

The more sales the longer it will stay on the market..that's why Wii was on the market longer than most Nintendo consoles...

NX most likely is a handheld. Do people forget that a new handheld is due first? End of 2016/Beginning of 2017 would be a pretty normal console cycle for the successor of the 3DS too.

I dont think Nintendo should go overboard with the hardware design.
However I think nintendo should drop all the price traps it can (no gamepad controller).

(if removeing a gamepad means you can sell your consol 100$ cheaper, than gamepad is just not anywhere close to being worth it)

By the time the new consol releases the price to build a consol equal to a ps4 will probably be alot lower than it was when Sony & microsoft made their consols.

As long as Nintendo doesnt add unnessary costly gimmicks,... it could end up being cheap and still powerfull.

Thank for this. Even if this and the fusion idea that Soundwave constantly talks about were Nintendo's only ways of action, the fusion one would be the way to go, and I hate the idea of a fusion platform.

The problem is the PS4 is going to be 299$ by the time nintendo's new consol releases.

If its over 300$ at launch, and not much stronger than the PS4..... yeah thats just not going to work out well.

Nintedo has 2 choices:
Cheaper than 300$ consol.... performance > better than Wii U. (could be weaker than ps4 still)
More than 300$ consol.... performance NEEDs to be better than PS4 by a good margin.


I think nintendo would be best of trying to make a really cheap consol next.
Its sad its like this, but its because they launch late into the gen.... theyre force to compete against consols that have been on market for abit and have had price cuts (and already have bigger gameing libaries).

Nintendo either needs to man up and put on the big boy pants, and make a real consol that ll beat the sh*t out of ps4 & xbox, or it needs to realise its the "bargin" consol (aimed at familys and kids) and just accept that for what it is (theres actually no shame in this), and drop all the expensive gimmicky stuff it does (gamepad ruined the Wii U).
