Splatoon looks really cool

Destiny is the best of the three.  But no one moves consoles like Halo, CoD, GTA. 

So a man in a store seemed excited about the game and then the question is whether Spaltoon will be a system seller on the same scale as the biggest system seller in Nintendo history (Mario Kart)? That seems like an extremely long stretch if I ever saw one.
Personally, I think the game looks awesome but I don't think it will be a big hit, as for moving systems; I imagine something along the lines of Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101 in impact. Even Bayo 2 did next to nothing for hardware sales, releasing on the verge of the holidays and with amazing reviews and internet hype behind it.

Nothing released on the Wii U will ever come close to MK when it comes to hardware boosts, and certainly not Splatoon. For the record; I don't think it would make a big splash (pun intended) on other platforms either.

Maybe not on the same scale as MK 8 but I think it will boost the console. Like Watch Dogs had for PS4

Nope, but it sure will be a good game if you ask me. I doubt many games will be Wii U system sellers anymore now..

I can see the game doing 700k Worldwide first week. I expect Splatoon to sell very well. Especially after that direct.

I fear it will simply be another underappreciated, great game on the Wii U. Some of my favorite games were not massive sellers.
