Yeah I thought the same thing.

That is why I posted the list of 10 games over 10 million in a couple posts back.  The most amazing thing that I forgot is just how well Wii Sports sold.  Truly amazing numbers

SW sales are really low right now, and attach ratio is the lower from all consoles... but the console was good and had several great games.... I would ignore the guy.

VGChartz has the attach rate at around 8.8, that's certainly not a record low.

The first three years of last generation was essentially perfection from Nintendo. Releases were spaced well enough, advertising was quite good, and they capitalized on incredible word of mouth.

I really don't think anyone in the organization was prepared for that level of success.

Nobody was I reckon; not Nintendo, not third parties. They all got caught off guard by the runaway sales.
