100 million consoles and software still charting says otherwise.

SW sales are really low right now, and attach ratio is the lower from all consoles... but the console was good and had several great games.... I would ignore the guy.

VGChartz has the attach rate at around 8.8, that's certainly not a record low.

Haven't said it is record low... I'm talking about 7th gen... but it's health enough, the problem is that tacking out massive bundles it would probably drop to low 7. Anyway Ninty make reaps of money, their only problem was lack of 3rd party sucess that made WiiU even harder to suceed.

But if you look at 6th gen PS2 (160M HW and 1.5B SW) having only 5 games over 10M, while PS3 got 85M HW and 850M SW having 7 over 10M it is quite clear how much squewed gaming got and how much they suffocated low to mid tier... niche is dropping a lot.

A bundle is still a sale though, people know when they buy the bundle that they are buying the game as well and they make the decision with that knowledge. It's not like bundling is a Nintendo exclusive practice either.

The mid tier of development was essentially gutted in the 7th gen, true, but I'd say that was more due to the polarization of everything having to be either a Triple A blockbuster or a $5 indie; the games in the middle were neglected.

yep, bundle is bundle... Just said that since WiiSports and the like were basically included in all HW sales so taking them out would make Wii drop a lot, but that doesn't matter... the console was health and had good SW sales, and Ninty sold a lot of SW on it, as I said the only down was 3rd parties sales on it. But for real Ninty fans that don't matter, they really focus more on 1st quality titles and 3rds will be played on PC or ps/xboxes... I play a lot more 1st parties than 3rd on my PSs as well.

I think maybe they gutted themselves, they should release for like 20-40 dollars depending the game, but ow well.

It's funny all the people saying a bundled game doesn't count. Lol... that would lower alot of games sales then. Even games like the last of us. Fact is, aside from wii sports, which is what sold the system to millions and should definitely be counted, sales of most of these games would still be in the high millions. So, quit complaining, and accept the fact that nintendo sold more games on the wii than your favorite competing system. It's ok.

Fun bit of trivia; Just Dance 3 is now the highest selling third party game on any Nintendo home console, haha. XD

That's cool but more than half of those games are casual games which means "they" were all right about the Wii being catered too much to casuals. It is the very reason why the Wii U has done so bad. It is guilt by association. Since Wii was for casuals then Wii U must be also. The casual market is only good for the short term which is why the WIi was the only console to benefit from it.

The "they" that said Wii was too catered to casuals were the same "they" that were ignorant of the existence of games like Monster Hunter Tri, Sin & Punishment 2, etc.

Wii U's failures are its own fault, not the Wii's.

The Wii U's failures are Nintendo's failures not the Wii's failures. All I'm saying is that Nintendo admittingly catered too much to the casual market and it hurt the potential of the Wii U. The name "Wii U" was a big mistake by Nintendo. Also there are way too many dude-bro casual gamers now a days.

The Wii didn't click for me but still congratulations
