Zelda looks graphically better than anything you showed on PS3. I dare even say it looks better than a lot of XBONE or PS4 games. It has a great artstyle, something you can't say of GT5 or even that trailer from the Last Guardian which didn't look remotely special to me.

SubiyaCryolite has pretty much said everything regarding this comment of yours.

Art is a different matter. You very well know that I said "a piece of 7th gen tech". "Tech" means technology, which is different from art.

All the games you showed looked mediocre and bland. Zelda looks better. A lot better. You need the technology to make your artstyle come alive, otherwise you end up with Skyward Sword. I guess you people just look at the character models and scream "OH MY GOD, not realistic!".

To me Destiny also looks like a piece of 7th gen tech, but you don't see me constantly spouting that around lol. Am I really to believe that game has a budget of €500 million? What a waste of money, 80% of the budget probably went into marketing lol.

I say ignore Zod, as he's known for being quite biased against Nintendo (as seen with some of his previous threads).

I imagine he thinks he's speaking objectively, but quite honestly I know that he isn't.  So it is a waste to argue with him because he wont budge from his position, even if you objectively prove he is incorrect.

At the same time, though, you aren't using the best argument to begin with.  Art style definitely matters when it comes to this.  On the technical side it looks different, but the evaluations I see being made are ninjablade-esque.

I just care about how the game looks. Don't care for the technical aspect, if it looks great it looks great. Obviously a more powerful console can produce more technically advanced games. But like I said, for me, Zelda U trumps a lot of "next-gen" games. Based purely on how it looks through my eyes. :)

I just dont care about 3rd party on wiiu, i use my wii u only for exclusive game anyway, and pc for the rest

I think 3 rd parties know this via sales results therefore one of several reasons they don t support the Wii u-

No third party support? Wha tabout Just Dance and Hello Kitty Kruisers?

Devils Third, is that this year? im gonna get that it looks fun. Bayo 1 and 2, Smash, Captain Toad, Hyrule warriors and Xenoblade will keep me quiet for a while too. How am i supposed to find time for third party games as well?

thats pretty pathetic

I think Nintendo is positioned well and they are getting some nice 3rd party exclusives like Bayonetta 2 and Devil's Third.  In the modern era there aren't a lot of retail game releases in general so gamers are going to be looking to a second system to fill the gap and Nintendo is the obvious choice here since they don't charge for online and are far and away the dominant exclusive high quality game provider. Moreover their exclusives offer gamers a variety wheras Sony and Microsoft exclusives are often trying to copy eachother and mark checkmarks in the box for certain game types. You don't need to buy a xbox one for Fortza when PS4 has drive club ect. You don't need to buy a ps4 for Killzone and the order when Xbox one provides Gears and Halo.  Nintendo just needs to continue delivering high end exclusives and move their system price in a downward direction and they will end up being the second console of choice for ps4 and xbone owners and the first console of choice for Nintendo fans.

This is what I hoped will be the case. The Wii u is priced just right to be considered a second console for many. Nintendo has something the other two don't offer and as you said the other two basically offer the same thing.

I think going forward Nintendo has to market the console this way. They need more Bayonettas and more in house developers.

What they really need to do is unify theirs systems much like how apple unifies iphone ipod touch and ipad.   Make it so that a 3rd party game could be developed for the handheld and the console without much effort.  If the install base was 3ds plus wiiu it would be a no brainer to develop a madden game for example. But as they are right now it would take two seperate development efforts. Secondly if the online for such a game was tied together people would have an easier time finding matches than they did with madden 13 on wiiu and make the game more appealing to purchase.   There could be an added value to purchasing a game digitally because it could be played on the handheld or the console. Most importantly this would make it so that Nintendo could carry a console/handheld by itself and have a steady stream of games at all times.

Oh wait, there wasn't a single PS4 game shown that didn't run on a high end PC.

So...? 8th gen tech continues to be 8th gen tech, despite what may further exist. Super Mario Bros from 1985 is a NES exclusive. Would you say it has 8th gen graphics just because there is no high end PC running it?

I mean, it's so obvious. Technology is what it is. You're going around in circles talking about art, fun and other things that are not tech.

Here:

"Technology (from Greek τέχνη, techne, "art, skill, cunning of hand"; and -λογία, -logia[1]) is the making, modification, usage, and knowledge of tools, machines, techniques, crafts, systems, and methods of organization, in order to solve a problem, improve a pre-existing solution to a problem, achieve a goal, handle an applied input/output relation or perform a specific function. It can also refer to the collection of such tools, including machinery, modifications, arrangements and procedures. Technologies significantly affect human as well as other animal species' ability to control and adapt to their natural environments. The term can either be applied generally or to specific areas: examples include construction technology, medical technology, and information technology."

Uh, my point was obviously that they don't trust their own hardware enough to show games running on their actual console. Instead they're tricking their own customers. I have no doubt that a game shown off by Naughty Dog at E3 will end up looking like the end product (if not better), but I'm not so sure about other game studios and third parties... This and the habit to show off CGI cutscenes annoy me to no end.

Watch Dogs, Sonic, Bayonetta 1 + 2, Just Dance, Skylanders, Devil's Third (maybe?), and Hyrile Warriors are all pretty big 3rd party titles coming to the WiiU before 2014 ends. Lots of smaller indie games too if that's what you're into.

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

Lol, ok. I don't know how many dipters you might have. I just don't know you, so when you say "to me" you can say whatever you want afterwards.

What can I say? Go see the numbers (of pixels, polygons, textures, etc.) and the technologies employed on Destiny (game engine, effects, etc.).
