You don't have to be biased to dislike someone/something. There is something we call preference.

No you don't.  But in this case, there is some pretty astounding bias going on

Still, he acknowledges that up front.  Stays open from now, but no leway - if it goes to shit I'll lock it.

That's fair i guess. But yeah the topic WILL go berserk as a lot of people are calling him out already. Keep around lol

Its old news that Microsoft lies through their teeth. The only two transparent members of the Xbox division who represented it so far have been Shane Kim and Phil Spencer. Microsoft is annoying. Their only reason for existing is to throw off people who use Sony consoles. Halo would've still existed and so would Gears. In fact if the Xbox didnt exist, the PC realm would've been even larger than it already is.

ummm the reason ms has the $ sign is because without them giving out millions they would not exsist in the gaming world- ill really like to see how much they spent to how much they made  , and sonys gaming division is making money and sony has spent money on buying 1st party devs talented ones too. unlike ms who paid off devs and reviews and stores to give 1st class treatment to xbox over sony.

Sounds like a non-Microsoft paid PR rep has written up another another blog to hate on Microsoft. I wonder how much the blogger is paid to report his opinions as facts?

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS BEFORE COMMENTING BECAUSE YOU NEED TO SEE I'M NOT TROLLING BUT PUTTING THE TRUTH OUT THERE.  I DIDN'T JUST WAKE UP ONE DAY AND DECIDE TO HATE MS. THIS IS NOT FOR FLAMEBAIT OR ARGUING. I'M JUST PUTTING THIS OUT THERE AS FOOD FOR THOUGHT.

My last blog was a review, and I got no responses at all. No one seemed to like it, so I figured I'd write what I'm best at. This blog should show who Microsoft really is and show you guys why I don't like them. This is not meant to troll or incite anger from Xbox fans in a trollish way. Rather this is to show Xbox fans and all people what dirty lies MS has told us. Then decide for yourselves if you want to keep supporting what I consider a corrupt company.

Sure, Sony has lied a bit, as well as Nintendo. I still have some anger about Sony abandoning the PSP to PSP Go UMD transfer program. But MS takes the cake here! I have some links to another article and an insulting MS video which is clearly deceptive. Plus I have some memories of a MS lie or two myself.

My first link is to a story I read today about Microsoft lying and how they are ruining this console generation. I want to mention that I do not agree that MS is ruining the whole generation, just their reputation: http://nerdburglars.net/138/Article/why-microsoft-are-ruining-this-console-generation.html

Now that you have read this informative article, here is a link to a new Xbox One commercial which is clearly deceptive to those that are more casual and don't know the difference between XB1 with and without Kinect. This video has tons of Kinect features shown, but advertises the $399 Xbox without Kinect at the end. Here is the Youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QN6Fz67wLv8 . This video upsets me the most.

Now my own words. My first memory of Microsoft's lying is when they said the original Xbox was upgradable. Not only did this not happen, but they abandoned the original Xbox in only around four years--which is a short console cycle--in favor of the 360 and demanded that 3rd party companies switch to 360 right away. A more recent lie is that MS said that there would never be an XB1 without Kinect. Another lie. They said that Kinect was intregal to the XB1 and that they wanted XB1 to be a multimedia center. Well, suddenly it's all about the games when Xbox is losing in it's home territory! MS has not been all about the games for years now. C'mon MS!

MS has recently pulled a copycat of the Sony strategy in multiple ways. Games with Gold=PS Plus instant game collection. No more subscription needed for apps, just like PS Plus. $399 console, just like PS4. What bothers me more is that MS is not compensating the early adopters of XB1 for this new Kinectless XB1. The early buyers were told that Kinect was there to stay and was to be an important strategy for XB1, not a side peripheral. MS will undoubtedly downscale it's games for Kinect and stop improving it as much as they would have if they kept Kinect in every box. Now those that paid $500 are stuck with an accessory instead of an important part of the XB1 experience. They should have kept Kinect and just swallowed the $100 loss for awhile. It's not like they can't afford it.

Lastly, though it's not a lie, the constant red ring of death problem with the 360 for years, showed that MS didn't care about the gamers very much when they rushed 360 out the gate, and the fact that it took a class action lawsuit to get MS to extend 360's warranty to 3 years for the arguably poorest constructed game console ever, makes them an untrustworthy company in my opinion.

Clearly this is a biased blog, but one with much truth involved and no trolling whatsoever. Thanks for reading.

1.)  The comercial sayes "NOW STARTING at $399".

That implies that there is a better, or premium model offered for more money, and this tactic is commonly used in marketing by ALL compaines.

2.)  They couldn't afford to continue supporting the OG Xbox because the user base was tiny.  People use PS2 as an example to praise Sony for supporing thier consoles after the next one has come out, but PS2 had a user base of 150M, which means they could continue supporting it because it was still profitible.

This time around, Microsoft is continuing to support the X360 as it has a much bigger user base.  Just this years they have brought/are bringing 1st party exclusives such as Project Spark, and Forza Horizon 2 to XB360, as well as downloadable exclusive games such as Max: COB, Lococycle, Halo Spartain Assult, & World of Tanks.

3.)  There has been a change of leadership at Microsoft, which is why the vision for X1 has somewhat changed.  The fact is that they are just making a change that a lot of people have been wanting (cheaper SKU), which is not a bad thing.  Also, Phil Spencer said that he still believes that Kinect is intigral to the X1, and that they will continue to show strong support for it.

4.)  If you are an early adopter like myself, you should know what you are getting into.  Every person who bought an X1 at launch bought it fully aware that it was comming with kinect (which they basically paid an extra $100).

If you got it at launch, you got it fully aware that the price would likely drop at some point.  So while they did end up having to pay 100$ more, they got to play it early, and they got/have kinect, so its not like they were being robbed of anything, or like MS owes them a refund.

Besides, Kinect is actually usefull, and according to MS, 80% of the people with an X1 are using it, so its really not as bad as its made out to be.

5.)  So becaust the 360 had a HW problem it mean that MS didn't care about gamers?  I agree that the red ring of death was a stupid mistake on thier part, but honestly I don't care as they paid for it.  I mean you do realize that they lost hundreds of millions of dollars because of the RROD right?  Thats why the X1 looks like a freakin water cooler is because they were scared the same thing might happen with X1.

As far as the whole law suit though, I do agree that that was a bit shamefull on thier part.  Its understandable that they did not want to lose even more money on RROD, but in the end, it was something that they should have done right away.

At the end of the day MS is just another company tring to make a profit off of you.  They have done some stupid things in the past, and will agin in the future, but that is no reason to hate them, just be wise enough to know what they are, and don't trust them.  Don't trust any corperation for that mater.

I love how Xbox fans love to quote that. The funny thing is that isn't even what was said. This is what was said

The head of Sony games Ken Kutaragi said to Japanese economics publication Toyo Keizai today that Sony's PS3 strategy is "for consumers to think to themselves 'I will work more hours to buy one'. We want people to feel that they want it, irrespective of anything else."

http://www.1up.com/news/ps3-job

The gist of what Sony was saying was they wanted people to want their product. This was said in 2005 before the price was announced in 2006. The media pretty much twisted the words into what they wanted for their Sony hating circus. Find another quote to use because that narrative is untrue, old, and tired.

Well, to the OP I know you've written this like the company can't be trusted at all, but in reality it's more about what changes a company has to make when it's plans didn't work as intended.

The 180 on digital library policy, dropping of Kinect etc. are necessary reactions.

This is true. A lot of unfair treatment was leveled at Ken and Sony back then as well.

"These are the highest quality pixels that anybody has seen"

I agree people shouldnt trust them. I dont either and might not ever again but this is not why i think they are untrustworthy. Ill think of it more like this: if i catch someone about to throw a brick at my house and i yell at him about it. I wont just forgive and forget him because he said that im totally right and he wont do it after all. Now if that guy afterwards states that he hopes my house will transition to being thrown bricks at i will need to keep an eye out for years to come whenever he walks down the street. I cant just forget even though he tries his best to put me at ease. By doing everything my friendly neighbor does for me including, selling me the best and new fruit for a tiny monthly fee that would otherwise cost me 10 times more, aswell as attracting a lot of cute puppies that i get to pet if i want instead of only mature watch dogs.. He attracts these by letting them stay for free. Evem though the vandal mimicks these tricks my neighbor uses to earn my favor i cant tell for sure if he really has changed or if he secretly plans to attack me during the night once i can finally sleep again and had given him whatever he wanted out of me.

halo would not have existed if microsoft didn't see there was money to be made
