I felt the same way starting TLOU, in fact I broke it down to this;

Hours 1 - 4 = Not very impressed, especially with the hype of best single player experiance ever.

Hours 5 - 10 = Getting much more interesting, at least as good as any other game I have played this gen.

Hours 11 - 17= This whole part was the greatest ride I had ever had in a game, and I had that feeling 3 separate occasions in that last six hours.

Not saying the same will happen for you, but I really hope you will try to make it to the end. I would love to see your thoughts after finishing.

While this is a bit hyperbole, it is true. Once you finish the game, you appreciate it 10 times more and realize that the slow build up was all worth it. @OP: Keep playing TLOU. You're like only 15% in.

EDIT: Although the intro is the greatest intro in gaming :)

I agree with the game being better as a whole - OP should finish it for sure.  Also, I am glad the game ended when it did... any more of it might have started to become anti climactic.

Never played RE6.  But really liked RE4 at the time.  Thought RE5 was OK... it was fun but not very memorable.  Is RE6 like RE5?

*EDIT* Looks like Aldro beat me to it!

I'm the biggest RE fan on this site but RE6 is just poor...

If you call yourself "biggest RE fan", it means you are the biggest RE hater on this site.

RE6 is amazing, objectively much better than RE5 and Revelations. It gets all the hate, just because its not a mainstream title. Wihle TLoU offers  (gameplay-wise) nothing new, RE6 has a unique  3rd person shooting mechanics. If you get into it, its a lot of fun. If you don't want to learn and master the new mechanics its frustrating.

What does that mean? Is RE6 an indie game?

The Last of Us is not an over the top action game, it should not be compared to Uncharted and Tomb Raider (those 2 aren't really that comparable either, when they are, it is because Tomb Raider is straying from what made it good).

It doesn't have many exciting action bits, it is all about survival.

Fun is not the way to describe the Last of Us, it is too intense for that

The answer is simple: you like gaming, and you enjoy a game even if the rest don't. Resident Evil 6 is an atrocious terrorist attack over the Resident Evil franchise, but as a game itself? It's not bad. Not groundbreaking, but certainly not bad. And co-op always helps.

I played this free through game sharing with a friend.  So free and co op.  I'm a gamer, but this game is just so bad.  They turned the game into a shooter fest and the zombies are bullet sponges.  The story is also terrible.  "President, don't make me do this," despite he's already a zombie, and hasn't Leon been in enough games to know by now talking to a zombie won't do anything?  Or at the end of the first chapter one guys gun jams so he steals his girlfriend's gun when they're IN A GUN STORE.

I will say that Resident Evil 6 is far better than Mass Effect though.  I've put in 10 hours into Mass Effect and I was really trying to get through the game and then decided I can't, I've just got to quit.  I wanted to like this game because despite having just an okay story, the dialogue was actually pretty well done.  The gameplay is absolute garbage and quests are constant running back and forth.  This game only received the ratings it got because console exclusivity.  If this was originally a multiconsole game, this game would have been trashed by gamers for the piece of shit that it is.  Because it was originally an exclusive, it was hyped up so much that people just overrate it like sheep.  Once it's come to the PS3, it's one of the "suppsoedly" great games PS3 owners haven't got to play so most of them are the same sheep that like it more than they actually do because their friends say it's good..

You're unlikely to come out of it smiling for anything other than releif, but it is so ridiculously immersive you barely notice...

You have to think of it as the Wire vs a comedy. The Wire is a better TV series probably, but won't be the right thing to cheer you up after a long day. {I am not claiming the Last of Us is on the same level as the Wire, just of that gritty style}

The last of us isn't a game, its an experience. The thrill of surviving, doing anything it takes, sneaking past or going in and trying to go flip mode. Its quality is much higher than other forms of entertainment. It can be fun, the immersion is there to ensure your in control, you can play it how you want to play it.
