Forums - General Discussion - I am now without any health coverage. Anyone have tips/resources to survive?

Only get major medical. Nobody in good health needs the little stuff, but you can get major medical for $60-$100 a month if you are young, healthy and don't smoke. Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield in Oregon is what I'm getting my price estimates from but I'm sure you can find a similar program in your area.

I went 12 years with out it. It's over rated for most people. The money you might actually spend on hospital bills would be dwarfed by the amount you would pay for the coverage. Eat well, don't smoke, stay way from sick people and most importantly don't think you need to go for every little thing. It will be okay till you can find a job that supports proper health care.

This. I haven't had health coverage since I graduated from highschool. Besides, if you get injured on the job, while in a car, or when you're on privately owned business property (shopping in a store) you are automatically covered. The chances of actually getting sick enough to go to the hospital is extremely unlikely.

Once you have a family though or you are getting older it is definitely a good idea to have health insurance.

Move to Norway.

NY you say? then Canada is close to you. Gotta say its a big load off my mind to not pay for health care. We get taxed a lot per pay, but hey thats the price you pay.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Look before you cross the street and don't smoke.

Honestly health insurance/healthcare just takes the responsibility away from people. If you had to pay for treatment when your injury was your own fault people would cut the stupid shit out.

I missed a window where the employer was offering this sort of medical package, that you paid out of pocket, and whose windows past.  The thing wouldn't even meet the minimum standards required by Mass. to prevent getting fined.  That is how bad it was.  Actually I am in my 40s and I see no indication you can get anything like that for that low.

Move to Sweden :D

And if he gets infected by Tuberculosis spores from the air when in some public place, is that his fault for not living in a perfectly sterilized glass cube? lol

Step 1: Vote in a government (president and House) that will bring in a nationwide universal healthcare system.

Step 2: ????

Step 3: Win.
