PS Vita will outsell Wii U lifetime

Yes. 148 20.19%

Maybe. 56 7.64%

I don't know. 22 3.00%

No. 467 63.71%

It will be a draw. 13 1.77%

I want to see the results. 26 3.55%

Total:732

Honestly, i don`t see it happening.
In terms of price, Vita`s price may be too high for it`s market. Wii U starts at 300 which is ok for the home console market.
In terms of games, Vita already had a year to build a good library when Wii U is just starting. And according to Iwata, dev kits that allowed to use Wii U`s power came in too late.

Wii U has a year for itself to build confidence in the console. Vita didn`t have that.

You skipped over one very important thing.
The PSVita doesn't have Nintendo First Party games.

Because we all know that helped a lot the GC

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

The PS Vita will sell under 20m units and the Wii U will sell under 40m units.

Called it first bitche$!

The Wii U would have to have something like 20% market-share, and Vita would have to get up to 6-8M yearly, sustained over 4-5 years.

That's possible, not likely but at least in the realm of possibility.

I still haven't seen any good arguements as to why Vita will out sell Wii U that can't be refuted. It is possible for vita to do better, but I just don't see it right now. Vita has already gotten solid 3rd party support, and it hasn't helped at all. Wii u is still waiting for some heavy hitting 1st party games, that will do a lot to sell the system. And to all the people saying that Nintendos 1st party games didn't help them during the GC era: you're wrong. Plain and simple. Had the GC been a Sony console we wouldn't have been hearing about the PS4 this month. Only Nintendo can survive on 1st party.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I like how you gave a quick answer and then followed it up with a much more thought out and in depth answer.

Not that I don't agree with the general sentiment of your post, but this sentence seems horrifically out of place.  What's the "solid" 3rd party support Vita has gotten?

In the west, arguably Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, Need for Speed plus Madden & FIFA.  All games which Wii-U has it in its launch window.  Yes, the Call of Duty & Assassin's Creed were original games, but are you really trying to say that Black Ops Declassified was an example of "solid" 3rd party support?

In Japan, I only really see Persona & Miku (possibly Gundam & Tales of Innocence as well).  None of them even remotely as big an IP as Dragon Quest which Wii-U is again getting in its launch window.

Other than that, it's pretty much just ports.  Which is simply a product of having been on the market for 1 year 2 months instead of just 2 months (i.e. I'm sure Wii-U will have similar levels of "solid 3rd party support" when it's been on the market for a year and two months).

Like I say, it's not that I don't agree with the general sentiment of your post - Wii-U will pick up steam once it gets proper first party titles, and I'm sure it'll overtake Vita at that point.  I just don't really see why you inserted that sentence I quoted.  3rd party support for Vita has been questionable at best and laughable at most, which is arguably the reason it's struggling at the moment.
