Plus, there's a big difference between doing something a bit different to totally messing with something until you turn it into an entirely new concept

other games...
I am a very big fan of Paper Mario and played all of them. I really enjoyed them all too.
In my opinion:
PM64 > PMSS > SPM > PMTTYD
I really liked TTYD but honestly don't understand how it seems to be the fan favorite of the series, it is the worst one IMO
After hearing that a number of bad decisions that were made for Paper Mario: Sticker Star came from Club Nintendo Surveys, I'm not so sure it will be. Not to mention, Sticker Star is selling extremely well, so I'm concerned Nintendo will take that as, "Oh, they like this type of Paper Mario the most". Also, reviews had said that due to the changes, the battles seemed pointless and I'm worried that Nintendo will take that as "the battles should not be in the game any more" rather than "the battles need to be given more of a purpose". I don't know. I'm just paranoid by the state of this franchise after they release Super Paper Mario, then realized people wanted a traditional Paper Mario experience so they start making another one, then scrap it for some more gimmicky release. There was nothing wrong with the way the franchise was and how it sold so I'm not sure what's with the drastic changes.
Nintendo, why you no change?
Nintendo, why you change too much?
The obvious solution Nintendo should take is to make a lot of changes and no change at all. That would make everyone happy.

It's not as simple that. Franchise that are growing stale and really do need change are not getting it. I.E. Pokemon, Zelda, Mario Kart, New Super Mario Bros, and a few others.
Whereas franchises that don't need to change/ aren't stale are being changed every which way. Paper Mario is a prime example, there is no reason for them to deviate from a forumula that hadn't been used much, was great, and sold well. Another example is metroid. Metroid is a series based of exploration, immersion, and discovery. For some reason they want to turn it into a linear, generic, sci fi action game with an atrocius Japanese story.
Nintendo needs to change what needs to be changed, and leave some stuf the fu** alone. Change doesn't have to completely change what the series is all about. Look at Metroid Prime, it drastically changed Metroid, but kept everything that made the series great to begin with. It felt fresh, and faithful to the sries roots.
Sticker Star IS good, deal with it.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

I think Sticker star is ok. I wish they would go back to the games' roots and stop changing the mechanics that people actually liked.
But when people ask Nintendo to change they are talking about stuff like this :
I mean, What other games that Nintendo has made looked and played identical across 4 systems? Animal crossing?
Atto Suggests...:
Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series
Game - Metro Last Light
TV - Deadwood
Music - Forest Swords
