i think NES was the cheapest of the 3rd gen. consoles. SNES was $199. i decided to get a list with how much each console would cost if launched today do to inflation.

Oh yeah, and Halo 4 was only 15k away from being #1 worldwide this week. Awesome sales!

Either way MS should do a serious price drop, not some temporary $50 NA only price drop. I dont even count that as its temporary. Its still been September 2008 MS.........its now or never. Were in the home stretch!


I was thinking the same thing

like why hasn't MS dropped that price yet? I think that they are probably waiting for the ps3 numbers to  get close to 360s in 2013 then they will drop it to $149.99. It's a smart move but i also think that Sony is also saving the ps3 price drop to $199 for this exact moment aswell just so they can counter MS.

 

I think MS is going to have to drop the price by $50 with a 3rd 360 slim console OR they might just need to drop the existing slim 360 price by $100 to be effective

Why does Wii U need saving? It's sold about 2.5 million units in six weeks. That's more than PS3 and Xbox 360 sold in the first six weeks, and those systems crossed 70 million.

It's been six weeks, that's it. Monster Hunter hasn't launched. Mario Kart hasn't launched. Smash Bros. hasn't launched. Wii Sports hasn't launched. Donkey Kong, Metroid, Animal Crossing, and many others haven't launched.

I don't understand why so many think it's in danger of flopping.

PS3/360 sold so much because they have amazing 3rd party support. Wii U doesn't.

BTW, Monster Hunter already launched in Japan where it is actually releavnt.

Wii U has been out for less than two months. Wii U has been out for less than two months. Maybe if I repeat it enough, it will become true. That's certainly the case with "Wii U is bombing." If you repeat a lie often enough, apparently it becomes the truth.

Has anyone ever considered that Wii U is selling worse than Xbox and PS3 not because Wii U stinks, but because Xbox and PS3 are so damn good? That they're STILL getting AAA titles, still relevant, still less expensive, and still double as multimedia platforms and, at least for PS3, a Blu-ray player?

Almost all consoles get off to slow starts. The Wii U is actually doing better than many others.

When are they going to fix the Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed numbers for the 3DS. And damn, Uncharted: Golden Abyss was taken down by 20k and Declassified is over Assassin's Creed 3:L.

I guess Activision is swimming in that declassified money.

It's funny.  

Best selling third-party game on Vita in the USA is Black Ops Declassified, an Activision title.  Smartphone-quality game sold at full price.

Best selling third-party game on 3DS in the USA is Angry Birds Trilogy, an Activision title.  Actual smartphone game sold at full price.

Things are working out pretty damn well for them on handhelds...
