Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Ruh-Roh ... GameSpot Gives ZombiU A 4.5?

Just found out this game has no online functionality whatsoever. I can't believe it. Third party games on a Nintendo console are still stuck in the 90's even now.

It does have some online functionality, though just no online play. Not every game needs online play; it's not even too much to say it should have no multiplayer at all.

A game like this exists to make for some sort of coop/online functionality in the future. It has a king (master) of zombies mode where you lead hordes of zombies and your friend blows them up.

...and just who do you trust? I'm sure it's every bit as funny.

Not Jim Sterling.
I mean come on here are his two other Wii U reviews:
Batman: AC Armored Edition: 7/10 (wth?)
Scribblenauts: 5/10

That's what I like about him. He's the first to point out any flaws a game may have, many that other sites may turn a blind eye to.

With that said he does get silly sometimes (like his Otomedius review), and I can't stand when he does shit like that.

Watching the video review, how can people criticize it so much? It's repetitive and has very bland environments. Sounds like the original F.E.A.R. with boring areas but at least that had enough to vary up the gameplay.

Although, it seems like the multiplayer is fun. Might have to give that a try.

You do one attack for basically the whole game. And it always makes the same horrible sounds. This game is launched just to take advantage of the WiiU launch period to make its sales. It isn't a well constructed game, and came out 2 years to early.

But the point of that mode is to react to the person sitting next to you; something which wouldn't be possible if it was online. So, pros and cons I guess.

But I'm not sad about the lack of online, I openly welcome games which stick to their principles, and this is such a case. Don't include it if it isn't needed.

You can't trust Jim Sterling. He's pretty much a typical forum poster whose primary method of critique is hyperbole and sarcasm. He likes to lift certain titles up and crap on big titles. He's pretty easy to read, honestly.

Man these reviews are all over the place...

I think if you're a fan of Silent Hill, the original Resident Evil games etc. then this game is for you. If not, then...

I think you hit the nail on the head. Saying that I still think there are let downs in the game as I agree with some of the comments made by gamespot, which kind of don't line up with the score he gave, but yer each to their own scoring I guess.

Here's the review: http://www.gamespot.com/zombiu/reviews/zombiu-review-6400225/

Now that I know who reviewed it, the score can easily be explained.

Maxwell McGee earned a degree in Journalism from the University of Arkansas, and has contributed to The Escapist, GamePro, PC Gamer, and more. His introduction to video games was Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on the Sega Genesis, and he has never looked back. He welcomes your feedback through the site, or Twitter.

SEGA  must of whispered in his ear, if enough Nintendo games fail SEAG will return with a new console. I think that is a plausible conspiracy theory.

I hope it is true, I want the return of SEAG.
