Listen, its a sites GOTY although thats not entirely true as there are VARIOUS of critics that vote at Spikes. Everyone has different taste, I get that. I really cant bother to compare it to my own but all I can say is: Whoever wins that, will get screen time and be praised. As a gamer, thats something  I want to happen to my favourite company atleast. And out of those, I hope thatgamecompany somehow succeeds with Journey. I doubt that'll happen, but just to be nominated is nice too! Especially, ESPECIALLY since its a PSN game ^^!

AC3 did although.. make some ..changes to the formula a tad with that whole boat - wilderness stuff. It didnt work out as well as I initially thought for me. Like the game was a bit meh but at the same time Halo 4 really only did what it does, just better and I suppose people are rewarding new stuff. Hence why Dishonored is there, why Journeys only 2 hour long game is there and The Walking Dead etc. Hell it explains nearly every game. ME3 is a no brainer though. Despite what people say regarding the ending, the game as a whole, isnt really THAT hated on.

Its rather evident that Halos "charm" is starting to fade if I can be honest. I am guessing 343 did not re-invent it in any way that some of the players might've wanted, which is a good thing since the core fanbase will enjoy it. But thats the same as CoD's fanbase loving the game for what it is. Better or not, without taking risks and trying new stuff, you're just not going to get there. Especially since the series is a generation old by now.

I love reading the "OMG they didn't nominate MY favorite game, this is a SHAM/CONSPIRACY" posts. Crazy as it sounds, not everyone has the same opinions or even the same criteria for what makes a game GOTY. I don't know about anyone else, but I actually like when different organizations nominate or vote for different games. Makes it a lot more interesting than when just the biggest releases are automatically given that honor.

Don't worry, SOMEONE will vote Halo 4 GOTY, so take a deep breath and calm down.

Nice to have Wii U/Wii games in the same category.

Xenoblade theoretically doesn't have any competition, because the only other good games on that list haven't been played by anyone yet. And if it doesn't win, then I use it as evidence that people don't play before they vote.

EDIT: Hold up - no Resident Evil and/or Kid Icarus for the handheld list? I guess I'm forced to go with NSMB2, which isn't even close to being the best 3DS game this year. :P
