It'd be cool if a downloadable art game like Journey won.

Also, why the hell isn't Kid Icarus: Uprising nominated for Best Handheld game, but NSMB2 is?

Spike has no credibility whatsoever. Usualy It seems like they decides their nominees around hype alone. They look at what's the buzz has been on the internet this year and they make their nominess around it.

But even if it were just based on hype, Borderlands 2 and/or Halo 4 would at least have made the cut. If nothing else, I think some of Halo 4's more negative reviews have hurt it a bit, but that still doesn't explain what Assassin's Creed III is doing there, besides personal preference.

AC3 did although.. make some ..changes to the formula a tad with that whole boat - wilderness stuff. It didnt work out as well as I initially thought for me. Like the game was a bit meh but at the same time Halo 4 really only did what it does, just better and I suppose people are rewarding new stuff. Hence why Dishonored is there, why Journeys only 2 hour long game is there and The Walking Dead etc. Hell it explains nearly every game. ME3 is a no brainer though. Despite what people say regarding the ending, the game as a whole, isnt really THAT hated on.

Its rather evident that Halos "charm" is starting to fade if I can be honest. I am guessing 343 did not re-invent it in any way that some of the players might've wanted, which is a good thing since the core fanbase will enjoy it. But thats the same as CoD's fanbase loving the game for what it is. Better or not, without taking risks and trying new stuff, you're just not going to get there. Especially since the series is a generation old by now.
