"PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (PS3) added 1,139 pre-orders for a total of 16,696" - Source
I'm making this thread because in VGChartz latest pre-order article it was revealed that PS All Stars only has 16,696 pre-orders, meaning that Who wants to be a millionaire: 1st edition (Wii) and Transformers: fall of Cyberteon (X360) have more pre-orders in the USA than it. I find this shocking! I havent been following the pre-order chart for a while, so when i started to watch it again a few weeks ago I was expecting a game like PS All Stars to have about 50k pre-orders at the absolute minimum, but 16,696 seems incredibly low.
Is it gonna be a huge flop? Will pre-orders pick up rapidly in the coming weeks? What's going on?!

How many weeks until it comes out?
Also, what would count as a "flop" to you for this game? Some would say 1 million LTD- if so, I don't think the game will make it that high- but it will get some nice Christmas sales, I think.

It's going to flop. Just like LBP Karting.
Sony PR has spent years telling their fanbase how an Hardcore game should be: cinematic, realistic-looking, adult or epic and badass, heavy on storytelling.
At the same time they went on calling the competition childish or casual.
Now it will be hard for them to convince fans to buy a game without any of the mentioned qualities, that blatantly copies competiton.
Not to mention Smash Bros is just too good, those who have played it enough and love it, have probably just bought a Wii already to play it (since it's not very expansive). Those who don't know it or don't like it have no reason to be attracted to the game.

We don't have to worry, it's a good holiday title, so it will do okay. Even 100k preorders in its release week will be a good amount.
I believe it will do something around 2.5 million lifetime.

I Think it will flop worldwide 1m (end of life sales), simply because it doesn't look good. I don't know what we're supposed to be excited for. The artsyle is horrible and the characters all seem a bit awkward :/
