Forums - Microsoft Discussion - The XBLA Sales Thread (2nd week of May Update ! - Crash Course 2 FW over 800k !)

With this thread I tried to gather all informations from various sources and put them together. This chart is primarily made of leaderboard data, but also sales estimations and official sales data. I chose the limit of 200.000 or else it would've been too much work.

As you can see the numbers for many games are quite outdated, so I ask YOU, the community, to help me get newer leaderboard data. So fire up that XBLA game and look at how many gamers are on there !

I dont have the 360 beside me, but i do know RedLynx announced back in May 2011 that Trials HD sold 2 million copies.

Excellent.

Suggests that (naturally) sales are higher than leaderboard numbers, since not everyone is online while playing through some levels.
Will do some research too on Google.

EDIT: Trials HD + both DLCs = 2 million

Some of those are criminally low. Shadow Complex deserves 1 million at least.

With this thread I tried to gather all informations from various sources and put them together. This chart is primarily made of leaderboard stats, but also sales estimations. I chose the limit of 300.000 or else it would've been too much work.

As you can see the numbers for many games are quite outdated, so I ask YOU, the community, to help me get newer leaderboard data. So fire up that XBLA game and look at how many gamers are on there !

The numbers u listed there:41,192,000 games sold.

Quite a few are outdated, so I think 100 million games sold is not out of question. Awesome. And some really successful games are also missing

  • Super Meat Boy
  • Portal
  • Plants vs Zombies
  • Peggle (u have it, but there is Peggle nights and Peggle deluxe I think)
  • Monkey Island Special Edition
  • Monkey Island 2 Special Edition
  • Pinball FX 2
  • NBA Jam
  • Radiant Silvergun
  • Bastion
  • I Am Alive
  • Beyond Good and Evil HD
  • Stcking

and much much more

Top 5 responses from different users to Sonys forecast to ship only 5 million PS Vita and PSP combined for the entire year:

No. 5: "They probably prefer lower sales rather than makes losses" by Somini
No. 4: "PSVita's hardware is not like a handheld, its more along the lines of a living room game console in the portable case" by Joeorc
No. 3: "PS3 and PS4 are hurting the vita." by SOLIDSNAKE08
No. 2: "As long as Vita is on the market, its not a failure." by VGKing
No. 1: "The Vita is not a mainstream console!" by Somini

Maybe I'll expand this thread and make a new 200k treshold as that would include quite a few from your list.

Are you equating leaderboard numbers to sales figures for those games? Because leaderboard numbers include people who have played the game that don't actually own it.

But I suppose that is the best way to get a rough estimate of the sales....I'll look up some of the games that I own and give you the numbers for them.

Would be interesting to see trials evolutions first week sales.

Call me crazy, but i think 500k!

In this list I put leaderboards = sales.

The amount of people that appear on them with a 2nd XBL account should equal out those who play their arcade games offline. Well except for multiplayer heavy games and especially those where you can just invite any friend to play local co-op online.

In the end these are all of course just estimates as always, but I'd say pretty close ones as I don't think there is more than 10% difference to the real sales.

I think that's like a lot too high, but I guess it has done quite well.

On Trueachievements it has already more players in its first day than Fez had in its first 7 days.
Trials HD has some incredible steady legs, so I guess Trials Evolution will have them too and won't be so frontloaded.
