If the rest of the worlds drops the same, the second week for KI is around 90K.

I believe Vita went up is because there was a special sale in Japan that ended in the 31st that would give customers that bought a Vita 2000yen on a memory card. After it ran out Sony decided to extend the promotion.
Still... its only 2k up, not comparable to the numbers and rise the 3DS got.
Kingdom Hearts numbers were below what i was expecting, though in comparison BBS came out much later in the PSP life cycle and days on the DS life cycle (especially BBS that released only a year and a half ago). We wont know unless they release yet another one down the 3DS life cycle.
Maybe its actually good sales, or maybe the 3 giants are just eating up every other game that is launching. It seems like the japanese are pretty happy with just mario/mariokart and MH3G.
As far as development costs go, the engine used by 3D is supposidly the same one that was used for BBS so no doubt SE will make good money off it. Its not like releasing on the Vita would be a better idea at this point, the PSP could make a profitable port without the 3D.

I forgot the ? in that post. It was actually a question, thanks for answering it! Reading it now looks like I doubted his word about the cancellations.

Define "West".
Obviously PS2 sells roughly 100 times its Japanese numbers "in the West" (last fy over 6mio PS2 were sold).
KH franchise is damaged due to the over whelming ammount of spins off. Theres no other explanation, because Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter and many other "core" franchises didnt have a problem with the transition to a Nintendo device.
pwin´ every other villain since 1994
KH launch is a bit meh for a KH title, but on the other hand it's on a small userbase where Birth by Sleep and 358/2 launch 5 years after PSP/DS launch
if the game is real good, looks like it, it will have more legs and keep on increasing H/W for a while
don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^
Cheering for PSP in Japan is bad for two things
1 - It's hurting Vita's Sales
2 - Not a single PSP game released there will come west
I lost my hopes for God Eater, Tales, Yakuza, Monster Hunter... even Final Fantasy Type-0 looks distant, even though Square would be dumb not to release it
spurgeonryan said: How about...Europe and North America. I just do not see where they are being sold at, so I will guess that any sales are still Mainly Japan and other areas. How about Europe? |
North America and Europe aren't the only parts in the world that sells PS2.
You know there's also South America, Africa and the biggest continent Asia.

everyone who's buys a psp now is more likely to buy a Vita later
