Chronicles of Riddick 7/10 Solid sci-fi action movie.
It looks a bit dated already but there is so much content it feels like 2 movies. 3 cool looking alien worlds, different species and factions, an interesting universe over all. I wouldn't mind a 4th movie in the series.

The trial sounds interesting, maybe I can find a cheap dvd version somewhere.

first hour of the movie is good then it gets a bit stupid..all in all decent sci fi with enough mystery to keep you watching till the end.

The zero theorem 7.5/10

I feel like I have hardly seen half of it yet, so many details in the background. It's a bit overwhelming at first, like he steps right into the middle of a cirque du soleil performance first time he steps outside. Awesome sound work there too, great portrayal of the anxiety to go outside.
Interesting movie with plenty to think about. Not surprising when trying to tackle the meaning of life while trying to proof there is none. All wrapped up in a satirical version of today's society. Kinda like Brazil in that sense. Not as good as Brazil, but Zero theorem will probably be interesting to revisit in a decade or two. I'll be watching it again much sooner, so much to see. Love the giant X of forbidden signs in the park, no old people allowed, no wheelchair guide dogs allowed and other such nonsense.

Great performence from Chistopher Waltz too.

The (Canadian) blu-ray version is a bit underwhelming. Black bars all around with rounded edges. Crap unwieldy dual language menu system, not even english subtitles as an option. The extras were ok, some location and costume info. It really could have used a commentary track though. Picture quality is pretty good anyway, surround sound great.

Update: While the surround sound is nicely active with great sound field design I figured out today why I couldn't get it to sound quite right while fiddling with my amp's settings. The advertised 5.1 DTS-HD MA on the box is a lie. I just tried it in the ps3 and it is lossy 448kbps DD 5.1. (Not even the maximum 640kbps for DD) No wonder no sound program on my Yamaha amp could make the surround channels sound naturally clear. Mongrel media / Metropole film distribution has been on my radar before for a sloppy blu-ray release. Disappointing.

watched the imaginarium and again like zero theorem it just didnt make any sense at all but I enjoyed it has an interesting world and nice visuals.. I almost stopped watching when I saw Depp and that other guy forgot his name..

I'm going to re watch it soonish, confusing is the right word, I'm having a hard time recalling the plot (if there was any 1 plot) Just remember having a good time while watching it.

the expendables 3 got leaked 3 weeks before official release and I watched it and it was as good or as bad as the previous two movies.. they didnt try anything new thousands of bullets no one gets hit except the bad guys and there was the end fight it was lame,lame,lame Stallone vs Gibson

Alright people, I've seen Guardians of the Galaxy. Saw it at a local premier a week early however it didn't include the secret scene presumably because of spoilers and all that. I'll do a review thread on it next week closer to WW release.

Watched Dallas Buyers Club it was pretty good but could have been better I give it a 7/10. When it comes to movies with a similar subject matter and also inspired by real live events I think that Philadelphia is a better movie.

Watched That's My Boy not very good 3/10. Pain & Gain 7/10 pretty good definitely did a good job recreating the mid 90's. Ratatouille 8/10 and The Mist for the second time 7.5/10.
