I was looking up some sales for a game and stumbled upon VGC, then I lurked for about a year until I saw a thread so unbelievable stupid, I had to sign up to tell OP off. I don't remember what it was about but I remember it making me rage. I enjoy the general discussions and the community is pretty good, so I stuck around and became a more frequent poster.

hey.. umm... my name's man-bear-pig and im an alcoholic...
i found vgchartz when me and my brother had an argument about what sold more, black ops or halo reach. then i found vgchartz and was shocked as i never knew that there was a place that you could find exact video game sales and weekly charts, so i came here for a few weeks to see the sales charts. then, weeks later, a saw a thread about best buy europe going bankrupt and thought it was the perfect opportunity to join to share my story of how i inadvertantly helped it go bankrupt.

Via a Wikipedia link when checking Halo 3 sales, then I left for a while, and recently found it again in my bookmarks. (I obsessively bookmark things)

Searched for console sales about a year ago, came to this site for it, started reading the forums for about a month, then I started to want to post my own opinions/thoughts etc. so I signed up.

People were arguing about sales numbers on GameFAQS, and someone mentioned that a site named Vgchartz was the best source for sales (at least, better than NexGenWars or whatever). Turns out they were right!

Tales of Vesperia had just come out a few weeks prior. I was absolutely loving it and I was looking for somewhere that would show me how it was doing.

NexGenWars!

Yeah, I was looking for PS3 sales near the start of the gen, and started there, but luckily ended here!

Same, I saw someone mention that VGC was way better (I didn't know at the time because it was the first time I was really looking into sales).  I'm still ashamed of visiting the stupid "real time ticker" NexGenWars site....

I remember, that by chance, I found this site by searching "sales of games" and VGChartz cropped up. I wanted to contribute and made my first post "Metroid: Other M, followed by Super Mario Galaxy 2" in a thread about the upcoming Nintendo games of the time. After that post I didn't return for a while until after I returned a 2nd time a certain killeryoshis convinced to stay here. Later on morenoingrato gave me an opportunity to host his thread about the "Biggest Nintendo Gamers" after he managed to rig the last one in his favour. In the end I intergrated into VGChartz and posted tonnes of things (I managed 23 posts in one day somehow), these days I'm not as frequent poster and only come here when I really want to.

You gotta be kidding me. -_-

Look who's talking about rigging contests in his favour.

Anyway, I googled "videogames sales".
