Read the below at your own peril.

The money printing days are over.

I hardly knew thee.

At any rate; Nintendo, probably the only one with the hindsight to see the future of console gaming, seems to be more fond of being a niche company than the mega titan they were earlier this gen.  They seem to be pushing the idea that if they make a 'bridge' to Gamecube-like Wii games via the numerous 10m selling games on Wii, they could just keep making Gamecube-like games for the rest of their fiscal years.  With the combination of the 3DS and Project Café though, they seem to want to do what they want.  Not what the expanded market wants, not what the core market wants, not what the mass market wants, but what it wants.

Guys, this could be worse than the Gamecube days.  Before Gamecube came out, Nintendo had the trust of the N64 gamer and at the very least a decent economic environment.  Now they have disgruntled Wii owners, disgruntled DS owners, and a global recession to contend with.  Rather than expand its market, it seems like they're blinded by an obsession with 3D and euphoric high from the sales of the past.  These very things will be the components of their future decline.

In short, rather than following what made the DS and Wii sales giants, Nintendo is acting selfish and rather rockstar-like.  It's as if their attitude is that of a god.  They're too powerful and above reality to fall.  Their customer base are just uncultured peons and that's why games like Other M don't sell.  They don't have to make games consumers want, just games they want.

It's rather hard to see the mighty fall, especially when they were the only real console manufacturers out there.  Hopefully I'll get my gaming fixes from another company but for now, the future of pseudo-PC's that you plug into your tv, overpriced DLC, and overall mediocrity seems prevalent.

Pixel Art can be fun.

You used a (plus) sign. How?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Sadly, this was my first thought too.

So, explain the +!

Well I had more respect for the Gamecube than I do the Wii so personally I don't mind this decision.

You can use plus sign in the OP.

To use it in the posts you have to use % 2 B all together without spaces.

Seems to work.

OT: The Gamecube was my favorite console last gen, so if this were to happen, Nintendo would likley have my favorite console again next gen.

I loved the gamecube, but I really loved retro reboot this generation, so Nintendo Software was the best this generation. Hopefully they combine the two.

Great. Now everybody knows it. ¬_¬

OT:

Pretty much my sentiments as well.

But I'll wait for E3. I just won't believe that Nintendo will totally abandon their Wii philosophy (as these rumors suggest) until I see it myself.

It'd essentially be like saying "Oh, that "wanting to expand the market" stuff we talked so much about five years ago? Yeah, we didn't really mean any of that."

But, again, I'll wait for E3.
