How did you even get to that kind of conclusion?

I don't understand how they got 20% torn frame yet in the video the percentage it didn't get close to 20% (less than 10% total). I also noticed the bumper cam did the most performance drop and tearing especially when the cars are more butch together. The cars themselves seem to be the cause since bumper cam has rear view mirror as well. That's the downside of a sim having more cars on the track. Dirt2 didn't take anywhere near the hit in performance that F1 2010 did even though they both run on the same engine.Yet Dirt2 had only 6 cars/trucks on the track or was it 8 at times?

So you're suggesting 48 fps is an issue? Interesting, as movies at the theater are run at 24 fps. Do you complain about that? |
Lol, yes...watching a movie is the same visual experience as playing a racing sim. Try playing any game under 30 frames per second for more than 5 seconds and it becomes unplayable...
Anyone that is serious about racing simlator games knows that 60 frames per second is prefered when racing. People that are just casually in to racing games wont care, but that doesn't seem to be the crowd that GT5 is talking to.
Screen Tearing is very common, reguardless of the amount of cars or the track. Slowdown is very common in races with more than 8 cars in a race, with 3 cars on the screen at once. Some cars look great, some look poor in comparison. Here are some pics from my races.
Special Stage Route 7 with rain
High Speed Ring with rain
Flipping a premium car
After flipping the car 7 times:
Damage seems to take way too long to show up, as you can see. The rain effects make all the cars look really bad.
lens of truth always seems to have a problem with screen tearing. 5% screen tearing and 58 fps always seems to be a deal breaker for them
So, it looks like PC is still the king of sim racers. Oh well, PS3 can be its squire and XB360 its serf.
"Reebokanonymous is more grammatically advanced than ConnorJCP." Sorry man. I just think it's funny when people don't take the time to proofread a thread's title. And it's a bit arrogant to say something like what you're saying. Is it so hard to believe that a game released over a year later than another game, with a few years longer of development time that is made for a system that people generally accept to be more powerful would have better graphics?
Furthermore, are you going to make a new thread for every facet of the two games? Graphics do matter, but more topics regarding gameplay, and how much fun the game actually is would be pertinent as well. I know a good-natured debate might be your intention, but graphics? There's not too much debatable material. "Does it look better?" "Yes" "Oh, well then it's settled." That's how that debate goes.
So has anyone confirmed that some of the tracks are just straight ports from GT4? Its the only logical explanation for the piss poor quality of some of them.

OOOPS! It looks like somebody can't read or can't do his maths or both. The article says "Gran Turismo 5 screen tore 20% more than Forza 3 did": this means that if, for example, F3 tears 5% of times, GT5 does it 6%. As a limit case, if F3 screen tearing were 0%, GT5 one would be 0% too.
