I can afford one game, and one game only.

Alan Wake (360) 19 11.31%

God of War 3 (PS3) 60 35.71%

Batman Arkham Asylum (360) 11 6.55%

Battlefield Bad Company 2 (PC) 15 8.93%

Red Dead Redemption (PS3) 48 28.57%

Heavy Rain (PS3) 15 8.93%

Total:168

My pockets dont run deep these days so I can only afford one game, and i'd like it to have some epicness to it, aswell as some nice replay value since it will be the only game ill buy for a while.

I love story driven games with a good singleplayer. But i've also done alot of FPS competitive play in my days, so i know i'll get plenty of hours out of BFBC2. Even though it might not be suitable for competitive play, it can be nice to just level up and enjoy a good FPS.

At this moment in time, im leaning towards;

1.Red Dead Redemption - Length, multiplayer, Wild Wild West(!)
2.Alan Wake - Story, Epicness, Graphics, Horror
3.Heavy Rain - Story, Innovative, Hype, Graphics, My girl wants it.
4.BFBC2 - FPS, Multiplayer, Funfactor
5.God of War - Epicness, Story, Graphics, Hype, Mayhem
6.Batman AA - GOTY, Unique, Batman, Replay value

Please let me know if my thoughts on each game is way off. Like if Heavy Rain was overrated, or if Batmans replay value sucks. And as a promise to myself, ill buy whichever game reaches 50 votes first (so dont screw me over VGC :D). Or in case non of them makes it to that number, i'll pick the game with the most votes come May 10th.

I went with Batman because it's friggen awesome and has some replayability to it. Most replayable would be BFBC2, then Red Dead Redemption (I'm guessing, these may be interchangable). Alan Wake, Heavy Rain and God of War 3 wont probably have the replayability but will be epic.

I say there is an 80% chance GoW3 wins, 10% chance BFBC2 wins and 5% each that Heavy Rain and Red Dead win.

Heavy Rain definetely doesn't have lots of replay value, I doubt GOW3 does as common man says. I dunno bout Batman or Alan Wake.

The one that will last you the longest out of those is either Red Dead Redemption or BFBC2 as the latter has online it can potentially last for months same with Red Dead Redemption

I'd say go for the one with online because online increases the value by LOTS if you get hooked to it.

I'm voting for Red Dead Redemption.

Is my answer for ya.  For length of play, multiplayer and the fact that you already have it at number 1.

I voted for Red Dead Redemption, barring bad reviews. It looks like it'll have the most "bang for buck" of all the games (open world singleplayer, awesome looking multiplayer). Of course, only get it if it looks like the game appeals to you.

battlefiled or red dead

(or halo ODST (cheap) and play the Halo reach beta and have still some cash in your pocket...)

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

oh and why batman on 360? doesn't the PS3 one have the joker???

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

Heavy Rain because you won't need anything else

i kid! , listen to Darth, get Yakuza 3 it will be enough for a loooooooooonngg time. there is too much replayability here.

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

- Wasteland - The Mission.

Some games aren't out and some I haven't played so take some of my comments with a grain of salt if you will:

  • Red Dead Redemption -- it isn't out yet so nobody knows how it is but this one likely has the most replay value of all them.  If your pockets aren't deep then this is a great bet assuming the game is good.  Is it good?  We'll see...
  • Alan Wake -- it sounds good enough and we can only guess how long it is, but it isn't out for a while and we don't know the quality.  I wouldn't be too concerned with this one at the moment.  When it comes out who knows, you might have the money to get it.
  • Heavy Rain -- the game is max about 6 hours and there's almost no replay value.  It's good but if you can only get one game this is the worst choice if you're trying to make your choice last.  If your girlfriend wants to play it just rent it, it wont last you longer than a weekend.
  • BFBC2 -- It's out so you know the quality and it's multiplayer so it should last you.  The only thing to be worried about is how long that multiplayer will last.  When the next big game comes out is this multiplayer good enough to keep peoples attention?
  • God of War -- See Heavy Rain.  It's probably longer but it still isn't going to last long.  Also, I'm assuming you're talking about God of War 3 and if you do decide to get God of War 3, save yourself $30 and get the God of War Collection instead.  It will last you much longer and God of War 3 is God of War 2 is God of War.
  • Batman AA -- Good game again, but there's little replay value there.  The good thing is you can get this one pretty cheap.

Personally, I would say hold out for Red Dead Redemption since you can only afford a single game.

If you can find Batman AA cheap I might also suggest Batman AA and God of War collection since that should cost about the same as the other games and should give you a lot of playtime (3 games for the price of 1).

For Value and length if you want to get it right away BFBC2 (it's a good fps, I just don't like fps)
Alan Wake, I'm not sure how long it is gonna be.
Red Dead Redemption, it depends if it's actually good, as Red Dead Revolver, was just alright IMO, But I don't think it would be terrible as rockstar is normally better than that.

GOW3, Heavy Rain, And Batman... All are relatively short, and unless you're the type that falls in love with it, and plays it over and over and over... it still will be shorter than BFBC and red dead (if the multiplayer is good)

So i say BFBC2 as Red Dead isn't out yet

Edit Basically everything twestern said was what I said only he said it better :P
