I finished West of loathing and Inside lately. Great games. West of loathing was pretty funny and fun. Inside was weird but great.

I'm starting into the breach today.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Ah nice stuff.

I am over a 100 titles on my Switch now, so it's hard for me to pinpoint one single indie game to recommend, but If have to choose a upcoming one, I would have to say Reverie. Nice Mother inspired title.

I will tag and join this thread for awareness on titles to check out.

Looking good, Tito!

It seems like all I do is play indies on Switch :P

I'll have to swing back and post some recommendations.

I shy away from West of Loathing because it looks kinda cheap. But you're not the first one saying it is good. Is it just funny? Or is the gameplay interesting too? How much can I expect to play?

I think I should chime in with some recommendations of my own. Let's start with some good Nindies that were on WiiU and were ported over to Switch. Ah heck, let's make it a TOP 5. In this post I put the first game, four more posts will follow. The placement does not have to say much, I thought them all interesting.

So, let's start with Human Resource Machine.

Maybe I'm a little biased, because I'm a programmer, but these game is presenting simple programming as a riddle or puzzle. And instead of a computer executing your program, it is done by a little office worker, that is busy like a ant following very simple instructions. If your program is correct (does what management wants) you get promoted to the next floor, if it is wrong you can through it step by step to look where it goes awry. If the normal challenges aren't enough, you get additional challenges in side-tracks that are considerably harder, also you can try to create a very small (few instructions) or very fast (fewer steps) program.

It was very fun, kept my brain busy to make out the solutions. Also sprinkled in is a very strange story (well, it's no big story, but you have cut-scenes from time to time which add together to some plot). The art style is strange, very common for games by Kyle Gabler and Tomorrow corporation; the challenges are fun and it so great to look at your worker running from one side of the room to the other completing inane tasks.

I haven't played or bought it on Switch yet, as I completed the game on WiiU and have so much else to play on Switch. But if you missed the game so far and like puzzles or riddles, this might be for you.

Talking about Japan, have you been to the Kirby Cafe?
Going to Korea this winter, and apart from many other ones I am thinking of passing by the One Piece Cafe at Seoul.

Either way, you can still enlighten us Switchers with a cool PC indie we might see in 6 months time.

I haven't been to any special cafe but I have seen lots of them from the outside. Which reminds me I still owe this forum an expansive thread about my trip.

The best indie games I played recently are all already on the Switch. Rocket League, Stardew Valley and Battle Chasers are really great games I can recommend.

There are 2 amazing indies that for some reason are not yet on the Switch.

Ziggurat

A fast paced dungeon crawler rogue lite fantasy FPS. A myriad of different classes, wands and abilities that make every run unique. Incredibly fun and one of the best FPS of all time.

Slime Rancher

A simplistic but very fun ranch simulator based on slimes and their produce. It gets incredibly deep in the end game and easily offers 50+ hours of fun. If you like farming games like Stardew Valley and colorful 3D environments this is the game for you.

Well, Ziggurat is on WiiU, so fits the Nindie Cafe theme: https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/ziggurat-wii-u

You reminded me to check out my wish list on the Eshop to look at which games I was waiting for next ...

I actually already reached my limit of games on the wishlist (200). But I'm quite liberal to put things on the wishlist, it is just enough with: deserves a second look. But reaching the limit was incentive to look through the list and remove stuff that does not hold up against other things. And games I already bought (why does the eshop not remove wishlist items I bought over the eshop? It list in the wishlist the game as bought, could as well have removed it).

It's a good RPG with lots of hats . I did most things in the game i think and that lasted 20+ hours. It's pretty beefy for a indie game. You could always stream the first hour and see if you like it.
