Shenmue for the SEGA Dreamcast.

In the latest issue of Famitsu, it's mentioned that SEGA are offering exclusivity of a new Shenmue game to one of the three console makers in exchange for funding of the project.

"SEGA also mentioned the chance of one of the three hardware makers financing the game's production in exchange for an exclusivity deal. Let's see if Microsoft, Nintendo or Sony are interested."

The first two Shenmue games were released on the SEGA Dreamcast and were met with critical acclaim for their gorgeous visuals and sandbox-RPG style gameplay.

Which of the big three do you think will grab Shenmue III?

well, we know Shenmue 3 won't be on the PS3... It's not that Sony isn't willing to put the cash down so much as they aren't willing to put it down for this. And I wouldn't either, considering how much of a failure the first two were. This is basically, from a theoretical standpoint, a Yakuza 3 mod. Either MS or Nintendo puts some big money forward or there is no project - Sony won't pay and Sega can't. I guess we'll see how it turns out.

Most likely it would be MS. The wii is underpowered to do this game justice. SONY have enough titles coming out of their first party studios and yakuza already...

I just lost even more respect for Sega....

Yet the good'old Dreamcast did the game justice just fine...

360 is most likely because they are most likely to put out the money. Wii would make the most sense though given the Japanese audience and the need to cut back on development costs. I don't care if they make it for DS, i just want Shenmue 3. People care far too much about what platforms games go to and far too little about the game itself.

I can't see why Microsoft would be interested in this game
The first two games didn't sell well and I doubt just how many Xbox 360 owners care about the game
Even if it was super popular in Japan, the 360 is kinda dead there

I know Sony got Yakuza....but i really hope they get Shenmue too
