Everyone now wants a videogame that has a blu-ray player. It is the HD and (future) 3D thingy! But, i thought Mass Effect 2 could move hardware. Will we see its effects only next week?

Mass Effect 2 won't move hardware. You need the first one to even enjoy it 100%

Seriously??  Damn and i deleted my saves from the first one.  What will i be missing out on?

I think he just means that you need to have experienced the story from the first one, not necessarily that you need your save data.

Also if you import your ME1 save you do get some bonuses.

According to mrstickball: http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/post.php?post=3089911&page=4&postnum=37

  • Auto-level to level 5 (instead of 1)
  • 100,000 extra credits
  • New weaponry
  • New armor (I believe).

Here's last years numbers again, this time without the untidy code:

Wii 263,096
DS 162,757
360 82,123
PS3 53,223
PS2 49,466
PSP 26,875

                  2010                       2009

145,911                  263,096
135,052                  162,757
78,362                    53,223
77,276                    82,123
40,794                    49,466
22,158                    26,875

...for ease of comparison.

Not too many surprises in those figures. I expected the 360's sales to be around this mark but I'm surprised that the PS3 is keeping up in NA, really surprised.
Won't be the same for this weeks numbers though, ME 2 will drive 360 hardware up quite a bit (maybe an extra 30-40k in NA).
PS2 still hanging in there, that is nothing short of amazing in its 10th year on the market!

Wii is down massivley YoY...

PS3 > 360 slighty.

Great numbers though.

Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

2 New Super Mario Bros. Wii 135,112
3 Wii Fit Plus 117,294
4 Wii Sports Resort 92,275
5 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 72,525
6 Dark Void 61,712
7 Just Dance 49,502
8 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 49,470
9 Army of Two: The 40th Day 48,762
10 Silent Hill: Shattered Memor... 47,907

This quarter last year was very strong for Wii, but even so, Nintendo better get their shit together soon. Those third party games coming in March will need to be big.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Don't know... Perhaps MAG will do better for PS3 than ME2 for Xbox360. Many people are buying ME2 for PC too.

Thanks for the comparison chart....

PS3 and PSP consoles up by a big margin.

All others down - x360 slightly.

For PS3 staying close in NA and making significant gains in EU and Japan will see it slowly close the gap.

Nordlead Edit: to prevent confusion, the PSP is actually down YoY, Kitler got the PSP and PS2 mixed up.
