Not dissing your choice, since that's a common complaint against Zelda and I can relate to that, even though I love the series, sometimes I get too bored to go through dungeons over and over again. |
To be honest, I didn't get stuck in that dungeon in my first playthrough for OoT. I got stuck in jabu-jabu's belly xD
When I played the game years later, however, I didn't have frustrating trouble with the water temple. I didn't use a guide either. I had more trouble with Dark Link than the dungeon itself. I thought it was a really amazing dungeon, infact. The ocean king temple I can understand, but the water temple complaints just seem a bit silly to me..

Oh don't get me wrong, Water Temple had an amazing layout, and I really loved the interaction between the water and the levels, but when I first passed the game, I was about 11 or 12, and for sheer bad luck, I was missing a single key to get through to Dark Link >_< Took me 6 days to find it, back then there wasn't any guides available were I lived, and internet was a no go.
It depends on how you approached the level per se, as most Zelda's have one or two dungeons that are intrinsically complex in their design. Roc's dungeon in Link's Awakening was also complex in some puzzles and small key reaches, some people have trouble in it, others breeze through it.

I think this poll could have been made much easier, like this:
Halo is the most overated game ever!
Options:
Agree
Strongly Agree

i wouldn't say that, since final fantasy has been taking quite a beating criticly as of late aswell.

For all the very sane things you have said in this thread, I just can't get over this comment. It just blows me away that at the same time you are trying to prove Halo isn't overrated you actually demonstrate why it is people think its overrated.
Halo is a good game. Though I wouldn't call it a great one, I don't have any problem with other people calling it that. But saying that "Halo put FPS on the map" is absurd. (I would say that DOOM put FPS on the map, but there are at least half a dozen games that deserve that honour more than Halo) That comments like this get made all the time by Halo fans is why the game is considered overrated; all the other series in the poll may get praised more than they derserve, but you don't (for example) hear FF fans claiming that FF put RPGs on the map.

To be fair, he did specify "console FPS". Which is debatable but one could make that arguement pretty fairly I think.

Indeed, I may have been exagerating a wee bit. I think that we are getting a little spoiled by the volume of fantastic games we've gotten this gen, and we need to bitch about SOMETHING so we nitpick every last thing. Especially when a game is highly rated or has high expectations.
All franchises are great except FF, its about time they ended it.
