Halo is a good game. Though I wouldn't call it a great one, I don't have any problem with other people calling it that. But saying that "Halo put FPS on the map" is absurd. (I would say that DOOM put FPS on the map, but there are at least half a dozen games that deserve that honour more than Halo) That comments like this get made all the time by Halo fans is why the game is considered overrated; all the other series in the poll may get praised more than they derserve, but you don't (for example) hear FF fans claiming that FF put RPGs on the map. |
To be fair, he did specify "console FPS". Which is debatable but one could make that arguement pretty fairly I think.
