I'm going to have to go with Zelda. I played Phantom Hourglass on DS and you have to backtrack through the same dungeon well over 5 times. Any other game with such a horrid design would've gotten nailed for it, but it didn't simply because it's Zelda.

That being said, I like Zelda, I just never will finish that game, because I'm not going through that dungeon again.

Not dissing your choice, since that's a common complaint against Zelda and I can relate to that, even though I love the series, sometimes I get too bored to go through dungeons over and over again.

But if you found that boring, then you have never gone through the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time :P Even die-hard Zelda fans hate that dungeon, you can get stuck for weeks in there.

To be honest, I didn't get stuck in that dungeon in my first playthrough for OoT. I got stuck in jabu-jabu's belly xD

When I played the game years later, however, I didn't have frustrating trouble with the water temple. I didn't use a guide either. I had more trouble with Dark Link than the dungeon itself. I thought it was a really amazing dungeon, infact. The ocean king temple I can understand, but the water temple complaints just seem a bit silly to me..

Oh don't get me wrong, Water Temple had an amazing layout, and I really loved the interaction between the water and the levels, but when I first passed the game, I was about 11 or 12, and for sheer bad luck, I was missing a single key to get through to Dark Link >_< Took me 6 days to find it, back then there wasn't any guides available were I lived, and internet was a no go.

It depends on how you approached the level per se, as most Zelda's have one or two dungeons that are intrinsically complex in their design. Roc's dungeon in Link's Awakening was also complex in some puzzles and small key reaches, some people have trouble in it, others breeze through it.
