And i can't speak for the OP, but i don't know if he was saying that Sony and MS were making a game that could kill Mario, but a game that was targeted in that direction, a well-refined mass appeal mascot platformer, like many FPSes that are made and are called Halo killers (or how EA is somewhat touting Bad Company 2 as a MW killer), but the games realistically have no chance of fulfilling their title.

Scanning through the topic I can say.

I thin we can only really start thinking of Mario killers once the nostalgic Mario generation goes away.

Long story short Mario is going to be here for a while the best we can hope for is an Insomniac to create a follow up series to Ratchet and Clank

I agree, dtwei shouldn't have been banned. He's young. We should be guiding him, not punishing him.

That other guy totally deserved it, though.

With the punishment he will know not to act like that again. Or else he would risk more punishment.

I would agree if people only flocked to Mario games due to nostalgia.  The games are excellent quality and fun to play.  They appeal to people of all ages and demographics.  As this generation you speak of slowly disappears, newer ones will take their place.  How many young ones now are hooked on NSMB and NSMBWii?  They'll grow up and continue to buy Mario games if the quality remains consistent.  The only "Mario killer" I can think of is a stream of bad quality releases.  

Am I the only one that mentioned that MS has the Banjo Kazooie IP?
