Can't call people fanboys. They're just trying to nip that rather vicious argument in the bud before it spiralled out of control and took over the whole thread.
And i can't speak for the OP, but i don't know if he was saying that Sony and MS were making a game that could kill Mario, but a game that was targeted in that direction, a well-refined mass appeal mascot platformer, like many FPSes that are made and are called Halo killers (or how EA is somewhat touting Bad Company 2 as a MW killer), but the games realistically have no chance of fulfilling their title.
