it really does. Dragon Age is exactly the same as every other bioware RPG. They've made the same game like, 12 times now. |
No other RPG on the market has the level of interaction with NPCs that Dragon Age has, period...

KOTOR
Mass Effect
Baulder's Gate
Have exactly the same and
Planescape: Torment blows them all out of the water.
KOTOR, Mass Effect, Baulder's Gate and Dragon Age: Origins all have exactly the same story line with different characters and different worlds.
You haven't hung around the SONY forums at all then... Demon's Souls get's a lot of attention around here.

Actually what he says is true to an extent and he's not being an "ass" for pointing it out. Outside the backstory given, as you play ALOT of story starts popping out at you while you are experiencing it. Gamespot is perhaps one of the most unbiased and objective as well as reputable sites out there. Not saying Vgchartz shouldn't get any credit, as I feel more in touch with the mods and the community. There tends to be extensive details when it comes to reviews, where good and bad initially gets sumarized and then it's truly broken down with minor spoilers. Did you know Ostrava being the son of king allant wanted to attempt to save his kingdom and bring his father back from that darkness that plagued him? That Yurt, the Silent Chief betrayed all the holders of the archstones, hence why the Rock that leads to his kingdom is broken (and he betrays you)? Executioner Miralda lost what little sanity she had after the fog? etc, etc, etc. They may have taken a minimalistic approach when it comes to throwing a buncha cut scenes, but the story is actually thrown in your face as you play and EXPERIENCE it, something that was failed to be mentioned here. So no, he is not an "ass" for pointing out truth. |
he pointed out nothing, while you pointed out something. Constructive criticism (or anything we can gather knowledge to write better reviews from) would be pointing out the truth.
Saying, "your hard work sucks, they are better" is just being a jerk and against forum rules. Backing up legitimate complaints is always the way to go.
Wow, thanks for all the answers, I guess I must have been blind or just didn't bother with it, weird. Anyways will definitely check it out today, I can't believe I missed it, I don't even want to check the reviews or previews, I like surprise games. :D
My favorite games for this gen:
1. Gears of War 2. MGS4 3. Killzone 2 4. Halo 3(Underated by many) 5. Mass Effect
If I were to recommend one review for the uninitiated, it would be Gamasutra's piece - http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=25238
A great read for anyone interested in the game.

Indeed. I read this article a while back and it made me absolutely love the game even more.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)
I am looking forward to this game greatly, now that I'm done with Uncharted 2. The only question I have is, will I have enough time to play this through before ME2 comes out? I only get maybe 4-5 hours of game time in a week. Anyone?
Also, to the "Bioware makes the same game over and over again" people, well, you couldn't be more wrong and you're mean.
Kudistos Megistos said: Simple answer: It hasn't been released in Europe. It seems we're getting a raw deal when it comes to RPGs once again. It's just like the 16-bit era |
And when you do get them, you buy twice, thrice, ten times less. Look at Persona 4 NA vs Others... VC NA vs Others.. Tales of Vesperia 360 NA vs Others...
Buy them, receive them. And fuck, you have a PS3, IMPORT FROM NA.
