Yes, since Sony rely so heavily on software sales to make up for losses on hardware, they'd be in BIG trouble if people could pirate their games.

I believe it's a bit of both. I don't know too much about console hacking, so I'll assume that this bloke is right.

If 1/4 of X360 owners bought MW2 then that would mean there is at most 4m of X360 owners that pirate games, what in reality means that "true" number of X360 and PS3 owners who buy games is the same, about 30m on each console. Now we can really catch the glimpse of how good games on X360 sell.

PC number is so high because people only download it for the single player since IW.net is fucking ass. I personally wouldn't even torrent it, garbage and waste of time on PC, IW is dead to me.

bullshit. A lot of people are buying PS3's because the games are there and the price dropped. This is where the pirate demons follow. They will eventually crack it.

As for PC gaming those numbers were predictable.
