This is not a good time for such speculation. Just like last year with the 360, when you speculate about this right after a console has a price cut, the holiday season or a huge software release, it skews EVERYTHING.
Right now people are really excited about the PS3 sales, but just last year around this same time the 360 had reversed the sales trend and the gap went from 5.5 mil to 8 mil +. At that time the 360 looked untouchable, JUST LIKE THE PS3 DOES NOW.
So lets not overreact to the current sales numbers. The economy, motion controllers, unannounced software titles and price cuts can skew any and all of these predictions.
The most REASONABLE response, though, would be the 360 just because it's so much closer. That's speaking, as someone mentioned earlier, with the head and not the heart.

At this point in time it is more accurate to say that Sony's wand demonstration resembles their Sixaxis presentation as both weren't really convincing and it doesn't seem like Sony will put serious support behind the wand. *EDIT: This is confusingly written, sorry. You are right on Sony's part, but not on Microsoft's which follows.* Microsoft's Natal presentation reminds me of Sony's E3 2005. Trailers that built insane expectations and hype that the final product a year later couldn't live up to. So far we have seen no convincing software for Natal. Of course this can still change in the next few months, but right now I am leaning more towards Sony from 2005 than Nintendo from 2006 like you do. Regarding your following post (the one with the responses in red): You don't seem to understand what made the Wii and its games successful and I think that you are setting up yourself for a massive disappointment. |
I can see where the audiance is........... kinda take away the old people and (80%) of the girls and then the lazy people. I think people who think it's going to be succesful like the wii are setting themselves up for an even bigger dissapointment.

maybe I am all hyped up becuase of the sales, but i think its good/interesting just to see what people say now and how different there thoughts will be when they look back after one of the consoles does hit 50 million

exactly, lets look at what numonex said |
Yeh, I know.
I think some people are forgetting that 2010 is going to have tons of software and PS3 will be on top when it comes to software. Look at MAG, it will be a hit in America, so will GoW3, GT5 will move over 700k first week and this game alone will guarantee that PS3 will always stay ahead in EU.
What I'm predicting is that PS3 will sell 4 million in its first four months, 4 million from May to August and 7 million in the last remaining months. Thats a total of 15+ million for the year while I think that 360 will only manage 11 million at best for the year. Though I believe we will see $150 Arcade and $250 Elite around September, but this really will only boost NA and UK by quite alot and otherwise PS3 will still be dominating in Japan and EU.
So I think the gap will only be 1 million by the end of 2010 and PS3 will overtake 360 no longer than June 2011. After that it'll be PS3 who reaches 50 million first.
But this is just my prediction and I think too many people think Natal will be the 360's saviour.
what your point eliasg 900k bunch of cheaters and brats playing mw2 on live ...
same thing with the ps3

I hear ya, just because one company doesn't have success with a product it means everyone else won't be successful with anything remotely similar to it. Oh, did you know there was a fitness video game pad before Wii Fit? It didn't do too well and that's the reason why Wii Fit didn't sell either. Err wait... Add-ons don't sell! *looks at Wii Balance Board and tons of Wii add-ons*.......

That would actually be nice, then they could properly twins then with identicle sales lol
@ Legend, I do think Natal will sell well with Microsoft's powerful advertising, but I just don't see it having the same audience as the Wii, I guess we will have to wait and see how it pans out because really.......... non of us have a clue lol, I just want to find out what people believe now and see how it compares at a later date when this has all happend, if you get me :)
