Techno pop hitting mainstream in the U.S , something that hasn't really been seen, and britney spears isn't "techno" at all.. she is a pop singer.

I really hope so. The US needs to stop with the really annoying rap/hip hop and start having more electronic music.

I would say personally that Lady Gaga is in the inevitable pop-diva crossover product of the rising popularity of electronica, not the other way around.

I present for all concerned Kraftwerk, these guys were doing what you could call techno-pop over a decade before Lady Gaga was even born.

Its been being done for years, its just recently that its been overused. Now the Eectropop genre is clouded by formulated crap. I'm not saying its all bad, but a lot of it is XD
