congratulations! Now that it's a matter of time that PS3 catches up on 360, it's time to focus on PS3 vs Wii sales because it's never good to finish second.

You know the PS3 won't catch the Wii.

Up until release of PS3 slim + 25% price cut, we also thought that PS3 will never catch up 360...

PS3 FTW!!

Not that I disgust the 360... hehehe. But I think PS3 is the nectar of this gen.

I still think it won't catch the 360. I'm happy for the PS3 no doubt, but that doesn't suddenly mean it will start to win over everybody, this aint no PS2.

It's currently in line with the PS One though, which went on to sell over 100 Million consoles.

You are far too negative CGI. Always underestimate the PS3 and its games... You hater!

Come on...

A lot of people here say "MS wont let Sony overtake them". But then they just think Sony will let all this momentum slip away? Seriously? With the lineup and pricing options they still have?

As for willing to lose money to do so. When was the last time Sony made a yearly profit on the gaming division?

I know, but Sony's current plan, according to them, is profitability. Microsoft is dead set on beating Sony, no matter what it takes. I can see them pulling every trick in the book to stay ahead. If Sony pulls out a victory over them though, it will make it ever sweeter for them, as Microsoft wouldn't even have beaten them with a year head start and a cheaper price. I just don't see that being the final outcome though.

Profitability, which they expect to have by next year. If they do get it next year, it opens up a whole new bunch of pricing strategies they can use. A $50 cut towards the end of the year wont harm them too much, if at all...

True.

All I'll say is that I see Sony shifting focus to America now. With GT5 coming out, and some good advertisement, PS3's will sell themselves in Others. As for America, I can see 2010 being the year Sony tries to penetrate the American market again, after being demolished by MS. Will they succeed? Who knows? But I personally think the most they can do in America is reduce the gap to about 6 - 5 million consoles, instead of the 8.8mil gap existing right now.

Sounds possible, though Microsoft will continue to fight very strong there.

Microsoft will bleed for the American market if they have to. The American market is the reason why the 360 is succeeding, the gap there is ridiculously large compared the other regions. But Sony is also a juggernaut and have been in the business very long, so I have no doubt they have some tricks up their sleeves. Also, if MAG becomes successful, I can see that game eating into the FPS base of the 360. You see, Sony pulled a really good strategy, and I hope they work well with it. They have GT5 for Others, and as we will know Europeans are big on racing sims... and they have MAG for America, but they need to HEAVILY advertise it. IMO this is the reason why MAG was made, to begin penetration into the American market.

Congratulation PS3!!! End of 2010 PS3 43-45m
