I can't believe these scores. Some are just downright too low. I mean a 3? The game isn't that bad. But than their are some that are just to high. A 9.What the heck??? It has super simple controls with little deapth but isn't really bad is ood at first than it turns ok. Those who score it low do you really know the controls aren't broken you know that right and its fun to play with friends. Hello!
It should get 6 or 7's
Ok I went off here. Its just that it has confuseing scores to me. Can't understand what's so good/bad about this one.

Are you just complaining or are you also willing to give a score ?

Considering we're rating the GAME and not the impact it had, 5.6.

I was just reading through the thread, and was thinking those exact words on a lot of posts here.

OT: 5/10

+ Motion Controls were good and fresh
+ Bowling was really good IMO (This alone gives it 3 points)
+ Tennis was fun.

- Extreme lack of depth.
- It needs online.
- Graphics that are possible on an N64.
- Boxing + Golf + Baseball are shockingly bad.

Pros
-Great controls
-Great graphics
-Great multiplayer
-Its brilliantt

Cons
-Wii Sport Resort, is way better
-It lacks a couple of features
-Poor characters and stages

7 is apparently average, so I have to rate this game 8.7.

You'll never change anything if you conform to the rules. So don't!

This is invisible text!

I have said this before... but the boxing controls are actually very good. Thing is they are not "pick up and play" like the other 4 sports. The others take about 5-10 minutes of getting used to at best, with boxing it needs practice. Once it "clicked" with me I would say the boxing controls are on par or better than tennis and bowling. (golf coming behind those 3, but only because it didn't need the control depth to make it work... Baseball controls were barely based on motion at all apart from the 1:1 bit before you swing (which serves no purpose))

That's fine for you two, but what if the game had an impact on me while I was playing it? It impacted me because it introduced me to a wild and wacky (read: fun) new way to play games. It also impacted others too, others that have never touched a controller before, but was up there with the best of us having the time of their lives (my family playing games with me for the first time since the Sega Genesis, so that was really important for me). This impact that the game has had on this generation not only changed the industry, but changed my view (and others views) on video games too. And because of that, it recieved a great score.

But that's just my thought on it, you'll have to ask the others why they scored the way they did.

Just to add to this, I once stumbled across a quote from the ancient greek philosopher Protagoras, "Man is the measure of all things." It's become a bit of a personal credo of mine.

The simple point is that anything at all is only as important as people regard it to be important—as it impacts their own life. I don't care if Wii Sports has less story than Bioshock, worse graphics than Uncharted, less content than Mass Effect, and worse controls than Wii Sports Resort, the impact it had for gamers, developers and the history of video games is paramount to all other considerations.

I'm not going to rank every game primarily on their importance like this, because most of them are so inconsquential as to make rating them on importance utterly pointless, but I do believe that the games which turn the industry on its head deserve a special nod.

That is great.

Does that make the game have any more depth or replay value?
