9 million is too high I'd say, but 8 million is definitely within reach. I set up my own minimum numbers here for Mario to hit 4 million-selling weeks, my Japan was set very low so 8mil is looking good. I hope supply doesn't get in the way too much for the game's sales!
Still, it'll outsell Super Mario Galaxy by the end of January. So much for the people who thought SMG's sales had anything to do with a 2D Mario!
Also, it'll be the best selling game ever for the month of December, topping Wii Sports' 5.3 million last year.

Anywhere within that range would be fantastic numbers. I know Nintendo wanted 10m by the March. But they are generally conservative. End of the year I'll go with 8m.
Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:
If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.
If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.
Wow, I think about 8 mil may be about right, I'm a bit unsure if NSMBW can maintain really high numbers in Japan, but I think Others and America can make up for it!!

I can understand, without seeing any sales, how some people might question the game getting to 11 million, but there was no way a Mario game in the lead up to the holidays wasn't going to get to 5 million. Wii Music, one of the most hated-on Nintendo games ever released made 2.5 million in 6 months.
