I agree pullus pardus
I just want FF15
How many of you have actually played FF VII? From what I remember it was the best RPG ever. All the other final fantasy games sence them have failed to surpase it. I remember after playing the FF VIII demo I thought it wasn't as good as VII so I didn't buy it. I think I would be an excellent Idea to do a remake. I agree that pride is the problem why they won't make a remake.
Love is whats most important.
for the same reason aunouma refuses to remake Oot....
it loses the inovation and impact it had
Because they already have like 15 games in the making right now and FFVII remake would likely be a big budget game (assuming it would go to the HD consoles, which I hope to god SE does) and they don't have the time. They mention that they would like to remake it but there to busy with other projects.
They are making a bunch more games right now. That's why.
Final Fantasy 7 is without a doubt the biggest thing Square Enix have. Easily.
There WILL be a Remake, the question is... When?
Little something from Wiki-
"As for a VII remake, all I can advise right now is to play the PSN release that just came out for the time being. Maybe, perhaps we'll have some news for you at a later time. I'm actually working on multiple projects right now, I don't know exactly what new projects I'll be taking on after XIII, but I am working on Final Fantasy Agito XIII as well, so maybe I'll be able to focus a little bit more on that project once XIII is complete"
They keep hinting at it, they have a bunch of scenes they could use from Advent Children for the cutscenes. They have the story there, the engine... Everything is in place.

No symbolism of releasing it now, why not wait another 7 years and release it on the 2017...perfect timing if you ask me, also the stated they would never touch final fantasy 7 after that year so it would be perfect.

Basically, I don't think Square see the point in doing a full-fledged HD remake of FF7 when they can just as easily make a new FF-game instead and net greater sales in doing so. If FF7 were to get a HD remake, I'd probably assume somewhere around 4-5 million ... With a new FF game, 5 million is pretty much the lowest possible number it could get. |
this 100%. and i dont want a remake i already played the game 10 years ago. i prefer ff 15 this gen.

Thing is, it's a port with HD graphics. They could put their D team on it for most of its early development, kick up the production values right at the end, add the A team for a few months of polish, and kick it out the door. It wouldn't cost half of what an entirely new FF would bring, it could be developed along side several different projects without taking up too many resources, or time, and it would still be one of the best HD games.
Why aren't they doing a FFVII HD?
I think they are. I can't wait for E3 this year or next year.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
they said they r interested in making a remake but that wud take a very long time with the tech they have now (especially if you guys want the top notch quality Square enix give us) it wud take about 7 years if they make a new engine and about 5 years with the engine they made for FF13
Pfft, the game would sell amazingly well, all you have to do is look at PSN's most downloaded games every week to figure that out. Week in and week out, Final Fantasy VII is one of the top 5 downloads.
I don't think they want to do it because of fears that they'll make fans unhappy. Do you add more content? Do you add voice acting? Do you keep everything the same except for the graphics? Not all remakes are successful or better than the original.
