Nintendo hasn't topped any of there consoles ever, every generation there userbase kept decreasing for example
Nes: 61.91 million
SNES: 49.10 million
N64: 32.93 million
Gamecube: 21.74 million
and now its increased again with Wii: 59.44 Million nearly 60 fucking Million sorry for my language but its so awesome.

Even a huge Nintendo optimist like myself though at best the Wii would be locked in a tight battle with PS3 and sell around N64 numbers lifetime, maybe a bit more, like 35 - 40 million. I'm still stunned they made such a huge comeback after over a decade of decline, congrats nintendo! :)

Nintendo disappointed me. I totally predicted way back that they'd hit 60M by '08 fiscal. They are 3 months late!
