I just noticed, was it that way last week already? Or is it new?
3.87M vs. 3.86M This week made Wii 70K more than X360. That means it just has passed XBOX.
Congratulations Wii.

It just now happened when the Others data got posted for the week of the 27th. Good eye catching it.

The 360 used to be ahead by around 400k, but then ioi increased the Wii sales in Europe by 700k or so. He's taken them back down a bit (increased them too much after all?), but the Wii's still ahead.
2 down 1 to go. I had predicted November but the Wii beat my eatimate jsut like Worldwide. I am still sticking to my December 2008 for the Wii pasing NA prediction.
Final* Word on Game Delays:
The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.
Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.
Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.
*naznatips is exempt

The Wii is going to struggle to pass the 360 in the U.S. When the Wii launched, the 360 had sold something like 3.5 million units (I'd check, but the comparison charts seem to be down). Since then, the Wii has only managed to close the gap by about 1 million units, leaving 2.5 million to go. The 360 is now in a big upswing thanks to Halo 3 and other great releases, and it's going to have a phenomenal holiday season in the U.S.

My prediction for YEARS END:
WII - 18.3 Million
Xbox 360 - 15 Million
Playstation 3 - 8.5 Million
@Killerman and darthdevidem,
Don't hold your breath. That may be much farther off than you think. Look at this graph:
http://vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=Wii®1=Total+Other&cons2=PS3®2=Total+Other&cons3=X360®3=Total+Other&start=39019&end=39383&weekly=1
The PS3 hasn't really gained much at all since launch back in March. This holiday will really spell it out.

The thing is this: the 360 sells very well in November and December. So there's a good chance that Wii/360 sales will be very close during those two months. If the Wii is ahead in September or October, it will probably maintain its lead through the holidays.
Right now the Wii is 2.43 units behind the Xbox 360. Let's say that it needs to make this up in 10 months to be likely to catch the 360 by the end of 2008 assuming Nov/Dec sales are a wash for both 2007 and 2008. This means the Wii has to make up 243,000 units per month from January '08 through October '08. Those numbers are clearly not impossible, but I'd say they're unlikely.
Of course, you could very reasonably question my assumption that December/November sales will be a wash between the two companies and if the Wii is in supply in 2008, then perhaps sales will be much higher through the holidays than they've been.
I actually noticed this a day or so ago, but it was over by a fair margin so I assumed I missed the posts on it.
After his re-adjustment down its close again however.
