And that is shipments. MW2 shipments, comparing like for like, must be close to 20 million already.

 

Edit: I just looked up GT5:P on the ELSPA awards, it is "platinum" meaning it has sold between 300-600k in the UK so far.

Lets say we take the midpoint and it has sold 450k, I think it will not sell more than 2X that in the rest of EU, meaning 1.35k altogether. Now in Japan not more than 500k, and the same in USA. GT5:P only charted in NPD top 10 once, April, in 6th place at 224k. The same or less as such games as Borderlands 360 or even less famous games.

So there's 2.35m or less in real sales that I know of so far.

 

The game only started at $40 right? And I checked because I didn't know, it is currently a greatest hits on Amazon U.S. at 24.99, so I guess a lot of those are low priced catalogue sales.

 

Edit2: and yes, the game debuted at 39.99.

i don't know about other regions, but here it was and still is bundeled with the Dualshock 3

besides, this seems to be a game people keep after they buy it, i never managed to find a used copy at the local Gamestop.

Buying a controller for 50 bucks or  a controller and a game for 60 seems like an easy decission to me.

SO YEAH nothing special about the 4,17 at least nothing more special than WiiPlays 20mill.

The GT popularity is fading?

I guess Halo popularity is fading since the last 2 games it released wont reach 10 million. /sarcasm.

And no. Bargin bin sales don't get replenished. PD is reporting their shipments. They are shipping more each quarter. There is no way 1 million is still sitting on shelves. Probablly more like 50-100k.

Oh, and you really did spek too soon about GT:PSP if PD has an extra 1 million sales with DD than VGC has for the prologue I think its safe to say we should wait till we see how many PD reports. And GT has always been known for legs.

I don't recall ever posting in a thread that had third party numbers for Forza 3 so I don't see the relevance to your point, in fact the only time I mentioned Forza sales I think was in reference to it could outsell GT5p if bundled yet would be hugely outsold by GT5 (my opinion on this isn't up for debate in this thread).  You've just trolled my reasonable post that didn't insult you in anyway so I think we know who the real hypocrite is in here.  Since when was it acceptable to censor peoples right to an opinion in your threads just because they don't meet the OP's agenda.

 

Finally this is a SALES discussion so I have every right to question the motives for you posting numbers that aren't from this site.

In fact, you seem to be the only one here who cries about having the VGCz numbers (not)adjusted(because it would give you sleepless nights?), Where as everyone else seem to be using the numbers for speculations about how GT5 will faire(not mentioning of the VGCz numbers) and what would be a better basis for this than the numbers from the horse's own mouth?

Please don't give the rest of us 360 only guys a bad rep. :s

I have a Wii, PC, 360 and PS3 so I'm not one of you 360 only guys.  If you struggle with reading comprehension thats your problem not mine and to be honest all I see is you trolling into a discussion between me and the OP.  He insulted me in his thread, I responded, thats not my problem.  It would seem given he has posted after my comment he has chosen to ignore me which his perogative, it doesn't require you to defend his opinion if he so chooses to express it.

Out of interest do you actually understand why he knows the figures were 3.91 until recently and just as importantly have you read the previous threads on this subject at all.  Once you have done and seen the posts in those threads you will understand where this thread was going.  I suggest you know all the facts before picking a "side".

You can claim to own as many consoles you want, but you still come off as a bitter one console only guy when acting like that. Fact is that you were the one who came into this thread accusing everyone for being guilty of a crime they hadn't done.

I have seen some of the previous threads, but this one is not a repeat, because it's debating/estimating the future.

Read the above post and tell me exactly where he was going with those comments.  Stop being so naive, there was an obvious agenda here and ioi's post above shows that I'm not the only one thats seen this data been used several times to start arguing over figures.  Check the OP's other posts (in this very thread) regarding the number of stock in stores he doesn't believe is actually on the shelves, his posts infer the game is undertracked.  These posts were all before I came into here claiming anything, which I still stand by the clear evidence of the true agenda.

If you want to doubt what consoles I have thats fine, I don't hide the fact that my 360 is my most favoured console, in fact I posted a thread regarding how its impossible to be truly unbiased when everyone has a preference.  I haven't acted like anything, you've come in here to argue with me in a discussion that didnt involve you, only one person I see acting bitter. 

You obviously haven't read the other threads just like you didn't read this one before you decided to jump in with both feet.  I think you'd be wise to stop now before you're in above your head personally.

A. There is no way there aremore than 100k on store shelves.

B. If DL figures are 1/4th the total numbers than expect GT PSP to be closing in on 1 million soon.'

C. Theres no way in hell its undertracked. PD reports its shipment. Case closed. It sold 4.17 million. I couldnt care less if ioi raises the numbers since I know the real numbers are over 4.17 million.
