The PS3 as a system has, prior to this year, struggled to define itself in the shooter genre. However, with the advent of Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 it's not only established big single-player campaigns but new graphical standards for the genre on consoles and active online play. So does this multiplat FPS still excite you as much as the PS3's big exclusives? It's certainly not as visually impressive. Is there a chance of this once and for all proving exclusives play better on their platforms because they take advantage of their unique architecture?

What are your thoughts?

In no way has my thirst for great paced singleplayer games been quenched with great stories, and that is what I'm getting Modern Warfare 2 for. The coop is nice, but the SP is the main reason for me to get it, and I am getting it day 1.

As I'm getting it on PC no. Activision has curbed my anticipation for MW2 by getting rid of Dedicated Servers, to the point where I'm not sure I'll even get it.

UNCHARTED 2 ON THE OTHER HAND...wow....the beta was amazing, I'm getting the game tomorrow..so I'll see how the SP was then

BAsicaly I don't get the MW2 hype

I'll get it when the price drops and when I finish my main studies. And yes, U2 and KZ2 had a slight effect.

Killzone 2 was quite a while ago, and that has set a high standard to beat in terms of FPSs, MW 2 will come out on top. I think KZ 2 is an amazing game, but MW 2 is just that step higher, but KZ 2 kept that hole in me, where CoD 4 resided, filled for most of this year, but I am ready for the Call of Duty!

As for Uncharted 2, yes it does spoil me forever, but in terms of gameplay there is no comparison. I might be less impressed with some aspects of MW 2, but online, I think MW 2 will still triumph

Yes it still does excite me. The story in the first game was great, and I want more. The online is good fun too. I still think Uncharted 2 will be GOTY (mine).

I plan to, at some point, enjoy all 3 fully.

TPS is a total other genre and experience for me, so I don't see the link between Uncharted 2 and MW2.
I didn't think that Killzone 2 was so special. But even if it was, it's been a long time since the release.

MW2 is easily my most anticipated game of the year.

I still can't wait for MW2 and Uncharted 2 is by far my GotY so far.

Killzone 2 had the graphics and a killer single player, but i never really got into the online aspect. The problem with Killzone 2 though, was they used the PS3 to make the graphics top notch, and i personally think they wanted top graphics more than they wanted top gameplay. If they could have spared a bit of that graphical power and made the gameplay more smooth, i would probably still be playing it today.

Uncharted 2 for me has perfect graphics AND gameplay though... The online is also fun as hell.

As for CoD, it has some of the the best gameplay out there, the graphics are nice on the eyes and the online is addictive as hell for me.

So no, Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 haven't lowered my anticipation.

If anything, they have made me expect MORE from Modern Warfare 2.
